It was a very good solid performance. He showed heart and determination and came out on top, however the fight was about as close on the cards as it could have been with williams still winning. He was within just 1 round of going home empty handed. There was never any point in the fight when you could be sure that he had the fight in the bag and he definatly was worse for wear than Margo. It was not a domination or an ownage by any means
Lot of us hate Margo. It wasen't a domination but it was such a good win for all the hype around Margo. He lost 8-4 on my card.
after the 6th round it was pretty clear that Williams could not lose the fight on the scorecards, but like you said he was 1 round away from going empty handed.
I don't think that he could fight too much harder in the first 6. Williams output had him kinda stumped. He was able to come on so strong late because he had broken williams down some. What he should have done is pressed harder in the 12th
He won the fight easy on the cards..maybe not dominating..Margarito was competitive at times but Williams physical attributes are to much for margarito
7-5 on 2 cards is not winning the fight easy on the cards. It's one round away from going home empty handed. In the post fight intreview when he was asked if he knew he really needed that last round he said "yes sir"
I thought it was 7-5. Some rounds you could give to Williams based on workrate, although if you look closer, Margorito blocked a lot of his punches. I think the judges got it right, anyone who says 10-2 or 9-3 Williams are fking crazy.
I agree with this post 100%. I was a bit drunk last night and I too was dazzled by williams out put. I watched the fight again this morning sober and noticed just how many of those shots landed on Margaritos gloves. 7-5 was a fair score IMO
Margarito has won many a fight by punch output alone. He was beaten at his own game last night... thoroughly may I add. Paul threw nearly twice as many punches as Margz... The rounds Margarito won, you could've easily made an argument for Paul in those rounds. The rounds Paul won cannot be disputed. People said Paul had no defense and he was making Margarito look like some club fighter missing those wide punches :yep He was dominated indeed..
Those who claim an 'ownage' are just talking ****. Their opinion isn't respected by anyone but those who think the same.
it seemed dominating b/c williams seemed to win like 7 of the first 8...so the result wasnt reall in question as long as Williams stayed upright. Well, thats if you are a decent ringside scorer, unlike maxboxing morons
Williams didnt dominate. Yes he won like 8 rounds but Margarito made him work for it. Dominating would be Williams winning with ease. That wasnt the case.
Williams out-worked margarito in pretty much every round accept the 10th,11th,but williams fought very smart in the 12th and final round.
