The division has a lot of parity right now, and Joshua was beaten by a guy who barely lost to Parker. Indeed, some gave that one to Ruiz as well.

Joshua will be back, but regardless of what happens next, he will ALWAYS be a guy who beat WladKlit, Povetkin, Parker, Martin, and Whyte. He is already a minor great.

Ruiz whacked him out, and Fury arguably now has higher status. But Joshua is still head and shoulders above Wilder, who has never won a real fight, and who clearly lost to a 50% Fury.

Let's remember that guys like Louis, Lewis and WladKlit bounced back from some very difficult defeats before they obtained true greatness.

The criticism mostly comes as a reaction to all the excuses made for him.

Imagine if fury got sparked like that.

Eddie would be grinning like a Cheshire Cat

And it would have nothing to do with Fury demanding 60% right or physically threatening him on social media ? lol

Ironically, Joshua himself has made none.

Joshua can't be "head and shoulders" above Wilder at this point, because he got dominated and stopped by a midget tub of lard. Ruiz isn't as good as Joshua made him look.

Having said that, I agree with your larger point that Joshua already has accomplished a great deal in the sport. Multiple defenses, several very good wins and many of them in style. My objection to AJ fans is that they denied his vulnerabilities, whereas they were more than happy to trumpet them with respect to Wilder. The reality is that the two always have been very close. Y'all just didn't want to acknowledge it. (Note: I still think Joshua could knock out Wilder.)

I'm aware of that. That's why I said it a reaction to the excuses made FOR him.

Sometimes rabid fans don't help their fighter's cause.

    ur one to talk bro.
i'm actually convinced u have a wilder shrine you offer Anthony Joshua voodoo doll sacrifices to on a daily basis. u can't be talking about fanboys when ur more obsessed with hating AJ than his stans are with loving him.

What is the obsession with Whyte on here? The guy is average to mediocre. He is essentially British level. Reminds me of the people who used to act like Chisora was some accomplished fighter. The guy was mediocre. Charles Martin? that bum is even worse.

What does Wilder, or Fury for that matter, have to do with it? Why does everyone posting in AJ’s defense have to drag Wilder in particular into it?

Should we not mention AJ’s name now that he got sparked out? It’s OK to worship at his alter but when he loses we dare not criticize?

I never hear the term minor great before. I suspect he won't return the same. I do that Ruiz, these big three ( Joshua, Wilder and Fury ) are only big in height. I'd hate to see Wilder KO Jousha...that would be tough to accept, jut lie the bogs draw vs Fury was tough to accept.

Wilder is not that good. Fury is the clear #1 for now, but I don't think he's a great and his title opponent coming up is a joke.

Give me Ruiz vs Wilder next with Fury fighting the winner. Then we can have a clear champion.
