...the fact that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a win over middleweight and super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez? Canelo is currently p4p #1 with impressive wins and legitimate belts at middleweight, super middleweight and light heavyweight. He will fight BJ Saunders and if he wins he is the undisputed middleweight champion of the world.

How many career welterweights have a win over, even a pre prime version of, an undisputed middleweight champion? How many welterweights that started at 130lb have a dominant blowout win over a middleweight champion with credible victories at 168 and 175lb? And he was almost 40!!! This is something the mystical ATGs of the past like Henry Armstrong and the great Roberto Duran or Benny Leonard could not accomplish. Its long past overdue to admit Mayweather was a generational talent and greatest fighter of our time. It is now the time to acknowledge him as a legitimate p4p all time great, yes, all time, and a name that is not out of place on a top ten list. A freak talent with impeccable work ethic dishing out ass whoopings from featherweight to middleweight.

50 have tried, 50 have failed... what more can be said? To the classic boxing forum, a word of consolation. The true mark of a warrior is the ability to realize when he is defeated. Do not think of this as the end. Think of it as a new beginning.

It’s rare to see a generationally different fighter beat his descendent as a divisional number one; rarer still to see a guy beat his successor as p4p number one. Obviously Canelo improved but this win gets prettier every year.

A Floyd hater cannot keep his eyes open under the verbal barrage of facts and truths! It is a second round TKO for The Money Team!

There is only one boxer in history that Won the 135lb World Title and also the 160lb World Champion..I cant recall who that was..I sure it wasn't am.American...Roger Mayweather would know the answer.
Floyd didn't try to duplicate this. The punches sounded different to him. Like the sound of a V8 compared to a V6.

The term "Hater" is the battle cry of the "Hugger".

It remains an under appreciated win. I can remember all the excuses that were made by Floyd’s detractors to down play the magnitude of the victory but the fact is, it was huge

Canelo already had over 40 fights at 23 just like Sal Sanchez. He created his own catchweight division (155).

I watched this fight not long ago actually. Floyd was just too good, too fast, too experienced and too polished. It was an emphatic win.

I'd pick the 168 pound version of Canelo to beat any version of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Floyd had a chance to go up to 160 to prove his worth and he didn't. Hell, GGG even offered to go down to 154 for him and Floyd made like a statue. Not a peep out of him.

Instead Floyd engaged in circus sideshow acts and freak fights with debut boxers

A fitting end to such a clown.

There's not freaking way Mayweather beats current Canelo at 160, not even if they gave him legit cement wraps. He managed to screw Alvarez over with the usual weight tricks and sadly Canelo learned well from Floyd by engaging in similar BS himself.

I'm referring to the catchweights and drug related dodges.
