Can Wilder and Joshua come back if they lose their next fights badly?

The heavyweight division is so exciting right now with good talented fighters and colourful characters, the only shame is I think these two are on the verge of being retired with another big loss in their next fights. If Wilder gets crushed again, how does he come back at 36? If Joshua loses, he would have lost 3 of his last 5.

Probably. They were never invincible to begin with, just clever marketing. British fans are quite forgiving of losses and even a relative lack of skill, American fans ... like Wilder. They're still both entertaining boxers at the least due to their notable strengths and weaknesses.

Fury and Usyk saved heavyweight boxing

Wilder and Joshua have been fighting nothing but bums.

Won't miss them one bit when they retire

It would be the end for both of them, their only chance to salvage their respective careers would be to fight one another leaving the winner in a far better place.

They should fight each other and then retire. Boxing doesn't need these two frauds.

Wilder was never a big name until he kept mentioning AJ, Fury use the sam,e tactic to make his fights v Wilder a lot bigger than they would have been.

Yes and that fight should be on the undercard of Usyk v Fury.

Yeah two losses is an impossible thing to come back from. May as well just hang up the gloves and commit seppuku, you've disappointed several children on the internet.

They would no longer be considered elite, Wilder is 36 and if he loses may never got another title shot for the rest of his career, both these fighters are in their 30`s.

This is what people say, and then they get 3 wins and it's 2 years later and it's all forgotten.

Wilder is old sure, but could have 3-5 more years as modern HW careers go. AJ has quite a while to go if he wants it. That's the key, what they want to do. If either guy stays in the game and their body holds up they'll have a lot of success still.

It also depends whether any of the young HWs really break out. None of then are that inspiring right now, that will change but it will leave opportunities open.

Regardless, I just hate the attitude. How do you expect the best to fight the best if fans are discarding guys after 2 high level losses? I don't want to watch the top guys style on no-hopers, I want to see them fight each other in even matchups.

just the reality of the situation, 36 years old, two back to back ass whoopins, probably the end of the road

AJ Wilder is a massive fight that will never happen

Fury Usyk is a massive fight, that I somehow don't expect to happen. No real US market for it. Casual UK market are a bit into him thanks to Eddie the manufacturer Hearn. Saudi's don't care for it. Basically AJ needs to win the rematch somehow.

If Fury Usyk does happen it's all thanks to Fury because it's not a fight the market really wants...the real fans do. Whyte Fury is an easier sell (UK casuals lap it up) which is definitely Fury's next bout if Whyte can beat Wallin.

capturing the US casual market is the big prize, none of the heavies have quite done it. AJ has done it with the UK casuals. Fury is getting closer to doing it, BUT HE'S RAN OUT OF US OPPONENTS!

Nah I think there's still a market for a round robin of the top 4 guys. I mean if AJ loses the Usyk rematch but goes on to beat Fury and Wilder nobody in their right mind would write him off.

What about Usyk and Fury? Both of them would have proven they are better than AJ and Wilder.
