Again, you are looking at DAZN USA as if they are in the business of selling UK PPVs. They aren't. Joshua-Wilder would've been a monster UK PPV. Everyone agrees. DAZN doesn't care about that. They are paying boxers to deliver US Subscribers. And Wilder can deliver television viewers in the U.S. Nothing has changed in that regard. DAZN still wants television subscribers. Joshua didn't deliver subscribers in the U.S. If he doesn't exercise his rematch clause with Ruiz, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't appear on DAZN anymore. AJ was an expensive train wreck for DAZN.
No I think that went with AJ's chin... He is pissed big time which explains his Twitter rants. I bet like AJ the reality is just setting in..
I dont think we will see Joshua - Wilder anytime soon. Also there is a possibility we never seen this match. Joshua has to fully rebuild now. I expect and it will be for his good if he win against Andy Ruiz, to take 3 or 4 fights that are not that "hard" so he can build his confidence back again and improve his skills.
Wilder was literally shouting and screaming in a radio interview after the AJ fight. When asked about the money fight vanishing into thin air? He was like he doesn't really care about the money and that he has already made millions, set his family up for life and that how money can one spend in his lifetime. He was actually most upset to see the manner in which AJ quit and he highlighted his own examples where he fought with a broken hand and kept trying to win regardless.
Lol So Wilder may or may not be able to make $30-40-50 per fight going forward without AJ, though even that is questionable, that could all change given if he is able to get all the belts in the future. But his pay cheque keeps going up. From $2.1 million to $10 million vs Fury to $10-15-20 million against Brazzeale. We don't even know how much he is going to make against Ortiz in the rematch. His rematch with Fury is definately going to do better than the first fight. What about the fight vs Ruiz? Which idiot in their right frame of mind thinks Wilder if he continues his winning form, his one round or one punch devasting ko's is not going to make more and more money going forward? At some point in time, all stakeholders will eventually realize it is time to give a fighter respect and dues that he deserves.
It was how Joshua lost that is the big problem. Heavyweight favourites normally lose because of that one big punch, but this was more than that, this was a total beatdown, and it wasn't like Joshua was taking huge shots. It was a big loss. People compare it to Lennox losses, but lennox never lost like that. Lennox lost in fluke shots, this was more than that. It's a big worry.
Lol Lewis got hit much harder. Ruiz in some of the drop downs just touched AJ's head and easily managed to floor him, Ruiz is not even the hardest puncher out there
