What do you think? Can Wilder actually make adjustments from the first encounter and stop Ortiz much earlier and quicker, much like against Stiverne? I think Wilder stopping Ortiz again in emphatic fashion will solidify his status as THE top dog in HW IMO. Unless of course Ortiz somehow manages to pull a Ruiz Jr. That would be an interesting outcome.
Cant see it. Ortiz too much skill to get stopped like stiverne did the second time. Can never say never at heavyweight boxing....i reckon ortiz has a decent shougtof the upset tho. Good fighter. Pity he cant make wilder lead cause he,d beat him if he could. Almost had wilder out the first time afterall.
He absolutely should do, Ortiz has looked slower and really struggled of late, a mismatch and pointess fight at this point in time IMO Wilder in 4 rds or less I expect from the WBC champion
I expect Wilder will stop Luis Ortiz much earlier this time. Like inside three minutes. Same when he fights Fury. Wilder will weigh more. He'll be more aggressive, because he knows he can put them on the deck. And they (Ortiz and Fury) will be more hesitant, especially Ortiz, because he put Luis down three times already. Wilder TKO1 Ortiz II
Wilder only got the stoppage last time because Ortiz's old man gas tank kicked in. Otherwise he would have been ****ed. Only one making adjustments will be the superior boxer of the two. Ortiz by KO3.
I don't agree that it's pointless. Ortiz remains a top five contender by Ring and is #2 in the WBC. And people still complain Ortiz got cheated in his first fight with Wilder and would complain forever about it if Wilder never fought him again. Ortiz has his rematch. Be careful what you wish for, as the saying goes.
Ortiz looked like hot ass against Hammer and was open to right hands all night long. If Wilder can't get him out of there in a couple of rounds I'll be surprised. All signs point to an early round blitzing IMO.
Well, we are all entitled to opinions and I respect them. I don't think Ortiz was particulary cheated, the doc has the final say no matter what IMHO but since Wilder says he want's to fix his "controversial" victories, then good luck too him. As long as we dont see Scorniers on Nichols rematches too, then this one can slide for me. Maybe if Ortiz shows up, we may have a good scrap but going off his previous performance, he has no chance. Just my opinion.
Nichols didn't come out for round 2. Sconiers was down four times and stopped in four. Nobody claimed either was cheated. Ortiz fans ranted long and loud about the first Wilder fight. They'll get their wish.
I think Wilder, blown up with confidence from KOing Breazeale, will try and do the same with Ortiz. However, Ortiz catches him with a counter left in the first round and gets tko'd in the second.
I think it actually goes longer, possibly goes the distance...I think Ortiz will be cautious and won't have as much success offensively but will survive longer and lose a pretty wide decision.
