My personal opinion is that he's eyeing that 20 successive defense mark. At 2/yr he might have to fight until he's nearly 40 to do so.:bbb
its not physicly id be worried about..its mentaly if hes still unbeatin in 2 years time with say another 4-5 defences will he have the will to go on??
Yes, but after his Sanders and Brewster humiliations, I rather doubt he'll ever take any fight with anything less than full committment. He can last more than a mere two more years, if he wants to.
wlad can easily fight into his 40's like Vitali.... it will be more about desire then physical demands on the body
Yeah, I can see that happening. Maybe some big up and coming Russian fighter knocks him out, and Wlad decides to call it quits and goes off to hollywood.
I was thinking he might be looking for that 70th professional fight. It would also be his 21st successful consecutive defense (2nd all-time) and his 26th total defense (1st all-time) if you count it. All of this is only 11 fights away potentially; which is about 4 years away. He would be right around 39/40.
I agree, CHEF. Wlad is smart enough to keep his physical condition at it's best. But he must also remain focused and hungry. Hope he keeps motivated, I really wish he can stay on top for all the time he can. :hat Right now I rank him in my Top10 of all time (heavyweights).
He can if he stays healthy and hopefully find someone willing to fight him but the hardest part for Wladmir will be to stay focused on his legacy which by the time he's done would boast the second longest reign and defences in heayweight history.
Well considering he and most champs have only 2 fights a year, then 2 years is **** all. If he continues to look after himself and not take too much damage (which he doesn't anyway) he might be around at the top in 4 years. I think Wlad is gonna be the type who, if he feels his slowing down, will call it a day.
