Can Wlad surpass Homles or maybe even Louis for title defenses?

What do you guys think? Larry Holmes had something like 20 title defenses and Louis has the record with 25 title defenses.

Can Wlad eclipse either of these total number of defenses?

Could quite likely do it, I doubt he will even want to fight that many fights though.

The competition sucks, Wladimir won't be fighting more than 10 fights I reckon.

He cant, If he was like 28 nog then maybe but at this point I see him either retire eventually, or lose by either haye(even though he is scared he is capable), a injury,dq during a fight or a lucky punch landing.

I count on boxrec 14 title defenses. This if course includes the WBO title which wasnt quite as legit as the WBC that holmes held, but it is a "world title".

Wlad will likely have 2 defenses this year, that leaves him at 16 defenses. At that point would only need 2 more years at 2 fights a year to tie Holmes at 20 defenses. Seems quite possible yes?

If im correct at this point he has 9 defences, holmes has 17 louis has 25.
If wlad stil fights 5 years then yes if everything goes well he should be able to surpess holmes. Louis he wont pass though.

I think it has to be consecutive wins, after picking up a major belt, he won the ibf belt vs byrd since then he has defended his title 9 times. So its 9 at the moment, do you see him beat holmes (20) louis(25) then?
I was mistaken when I said 17 before.

Thats a good question, I was thinking of total title defenses, consecutive or not. I am not sure if there is anyone else in the mix that arent consecutive.

Yes I am when looking at the number of 14 title defenses. I realize the WBO isnt the most prestigious of the belts as well. At this point is is bettera than the WBA, which has turned into a circus. Homles has the WBC and IBF, I think we are safe discussing the WBO in terms of a legitimate belt when determining title defenses.

  12. theirs no point for him its a lose lose either way he could get knocked out by a lucky punch and every1 will say he has a glass chin and was fighting bums and when he stepped up he got kod and on the other hand if he beats the record people will always say he fought in a weak division

At this stage, Wlad only has 2 defences of the legit title. No way will he have another 20 odd.

It is a fair point but to be honest Louis (I have read) and Holmes (I know) took tremendous criticism while they were boxing for fighting less than stellar opposition. Holmes didnt receive a ton of credit until he retired. If Wlad continues on building his reign he will need to be discussed when you are talking about reign and total title defenses.
