    Xu was out on his feet, no early stoppage here, but you can't look away at the fact that there were just 17 seconds left of the fight.

    Really good win, well deserved.

    Excellent game plan, well executed, in particular the body work that drained the life and spite from Xu.

    I'm not a big fan of Davidson, he just gets on my tits a bit. But credit where it's due and good luck to Lee going forward.

    yeah exactly it’s just the regular and there has been some shocking regular world champions just look at Trevor Bryan at heavyweight lol.

    I had sneaky suspicion Wood may win, but didn't expect him to stop Xu. Very good win by Wood, I doubt he will keep the belt for long, he will be the underdog against either the winner of Warrington vs Lara II or Galahad vs Dickens II. :chuck:

    Leigh is just better all round than Can Zu Shine. Can has no power, flat footed. Shoe shiner and basically a walking punching bag.

    Look, a lot has been said in this RBR tonight, from Can Xu and Wood fans. Looking for reasons why what happened happened. It's easy, what I was worried about happened. Can Xu was rusty, he'd been off for a long time, and Wood's power proved to be more decisive than most thought it would be. Can Xu hs been able to walk through the punches of most of his opponents to date, many of the more recent, having quite decent pop. They didn't give him anything to fear or make him second guess himself. With Wood, anyone even vaguely perceptive, it was clear from the second round, when he stunned Xu, did in fact give him something to think about. So from that point on, he played it super cautious, thinking he could build up a lead, but when he started gassing around the 6th, there was nothing he could do. He was still terrified of the power, which we know Wood carries late, he wasn't able to walk through Wood's shots carelessly and get off the astounding volume he's usually capable of throwing and landing. So he got in his head, overthought it, got paralyzed with fear of being countered, Wood took over from the outside, and finally late when he got desperate in the 12th, exactly what he'd been fearing since the second round... happened to him. Anyone paying attention to Wood recently should've realized, he'd gotten much better since his early days, most didn't think he'd improved quite enough to beat Xu, but clearly.... combined with the inactivity... he had.
