    Nah, he isn't. Wood fought a very, very good second half today but it was mostly due to Xu looking off and slow and also shockingly tired after the first half. I watched all of Xu's fights in the US and he looked really good there against guys who would smoke Leigh Wood for breakfast. Wood is a domestic level fighter in the UK. He's nothing special at all. Xu just had a very bad night today. Reasons? Inactivity, late arrival in the UK, bad weight cut, whatever. Congrats to Leigh Wood. HEarn took advantage of a good chance and he brought in the right guy at the right time and now Wood holds a title.

    The WBA situation is a little tricky at 126 pounds. Santa Cruz the Super champion hasn't fought in the weight class since February of 2019 and the current Regular belt is more legit now since it's actually being contested between fighters.

    Stoppage was early, I think, but Wood did throw at least ten unanswered punches and landed several of them without any return from Xu. Not a great look to give against a guy fighting in their own backyard. Nice performance by Wood to box from long range and land cleanly enough to keep the inactive Xu from getting into any sustained groove.

    No, clearly not. He's vastly improved, and put on an exceptional performance tonight. It's a pity you missed it. It pains me to say that, because I'm a huge Can Xu fan, but he was pretty much dominated from the 6th round on..

    I wasn't scoring it because the stiff-arming was really annoying me and I could only watch in bits. Wood was doing it from both stances too.

    Duh, but if you have a home ref then obviously it's a huge advantage

    This wasn't like they do it over in the US where they stack the deck even for world title fights with a home ref and three home judges for fights between an American and a foreigner because two of the judges were from neutral countries but the ref and one of the judges were British.

    Wood did well to stop him but the stiff-arming was ridiculous
