rightly so in my opinion. Can seem different when ringside I suppose. I just don’t think Can did anything effective. He was on the outside most of the fight and took tens of gorgeous, clean hard shots right on the button. He must have some chin because even one of them would have put many out cold. Woods was in total control from start to finish for me. I’m not saying I’m right as I know many had it closer but that’s subjective boxing scoring for you.

 

Good show. Got my £2 money's worth already. I'm actually intrigued by Smith/Fowler. Of course Smith the favourite and has better movement but I am not ruling Fowler out.

Andy lee had an absolute shocker. It’s a complete myth that he is this brilliant commentator people talk about. His scorecards tonight particularly the Leigh Wood one was shocking

He completely let his bias for McCarthy influence his commentary and scorecard.

CBS won that fight and won it comfortably.

If you were listening to Lee you would have been fooled into thinking McCarthy was in front and dominating the fight.

Good commentators are balanced and they don’t let personal friendships and nationalism influence their work.

 

I like Andy Lee and don’t disagree too much on his scorecard. I had Wood 7-4 in front going into the 12th but some of the rounds were fairly tight.

 

Frank was doing this before Matchroom in the build up to headline fights and Eh Day started doing it after viewing the audience reaction in leisure centres

 

Strange how it was trending on twitter, but I do not know a single person that watched it.

Hard to know how the event went from that perspective.

 

Completely agree with this. Lee was terrible and his scorecards were awful. I hate it when you’re watching a fight, sensing the way it’s going, yet the commentators make you doubt what you’re seeing. They need to have a former referee/judge working the show for tv. His bias towards McCarthy was pathetic and he totally misread the Can Wood fight. Very good show, very poor commentary. Thankfully Costello’s back soon. Lee’s worse than Macklin.

 

It was the females who were part of Leigh’s contingent . The camera did pan across to them once or twice which made it plainly obvious, also common sense would tell you it wouldn’t have been Maya Jama.
But it’s easier to assume it was and bash EH, MR and DAZN for that too.

 

it sounded like her mate. Im sure she also said to Bellew before the previous fight that her voice was nearly going from shouting.

 

She said she was shouting "Hit him! Hit him!".
We are blessed to have such an expert fronting the show.

 

2 if’s but if Wood gets upgraded to full champ and Warrington beats Lara they’ll definitely be making Warrington v Wood.

 

I thought that. Call me old fashioned but I’d rather have a scruffy arl man with encyclopaedic knowledge of stuff 20/30 years before I was born.
