    Good point newb.

He's no duller than an old Hopkins or Hatton, imo.

Ruiz is pretty boring, but one thing about him is he fights just about everyone. He's got guys like Evander Holyfield on his resume more then once.

It's a real shame that Lewis was robbed in the first Holyfield fight because had it not been for that he would have time to fit Ruiz in before the Grant fight. Lewis would have given him a frightful beating & saved us from ever having to watch that club fighter again:)

Ironically In the 1st Valuev fight It was Ruiz who was clean and Valuev doing the holding.

Ruiz was horribly robbed In that right.

I think because most of Ruiz's last few fights have been in Europe, and because of his reputation, many people haven't seen his last few fights. Despite my earlier post, Ruiz has opened up more, and believe it or not, has been the exciting fighter in some of his fights. I've actually found myself hoping the Ruiz Valuev rematch will be on American tv so I can see it, and I think some of the boxing fans will be surprised as well. Ruiz has opened up his game as of late, it just hasn't been noticed by most of the boxing public. Maybe some who have seen his last couple of fights will back me up on that.

If Ruiz was fighting cancer, I'd root for the cancer.

To quote Max Kellerman, "Ya win some robbieries...ya lose some robberies"

Honestly though what other top 10 heavy has Valuev, Chagaev, Golota, Toney, Holyfield, Tua and McCline on their resume?

    Dude's ballsy...give him that.

    Not surprised at all.

When the world ends, it'll just be cockroaches, Keith Richards, and John Ruiz clinging to the WBA title.

Scumbag? Don't you think you are going to far with the name calling. Cheating and gift decisions. You must of had time watch all of his boring, horrible fights. He is making a living and is a top ten fighter who wants to fight. I don't see any other HW fighters pushing and going to court to get a title fight. He has been fighting much better now with a new trainer. No more Stoney who I know and is a scumbag. Give him another chance or don't watch.

Regional journeyman? Cheating disgrace? He was a two time champ, top ten fighter for now how many years? Give it a break, you and some others are going to far. I truly believe Stoney was the culprit in part of his style of boxing. He has improved and is much more offensive than before. Peter is a perfect example of a clean HW fighter.

That is true, but RJJ is a legend and Toney did beat Peter, but got robbed. Meaning, Toney does have the goods as a HW. John fought both of them like he was a middleweight. I mean, John has power due to dropping Holifield, hurting Rachman, K. Johnston, Golota, Oquendo, etc.

If martians invaded earth and our fates relied on one heavyweight...It'd be John Ruiz.

Win or lose, we'd get enough rematches to think up a plan of action.
