dlh may be past his prime but he isn't shot. he was probably weight-drained for making 147 and was not properly rehydrated for the fight. he will be much better when he returns to 154 and takes on the belholders/contenders there.

but you can't blame pac for hoya's condition during the fight. he just fights the man in front of him. if there is somebody to blame, it is definitely hoya himself and his team.

Whoeve adds him to that list is either Mexican or ******ed. Only a while ago people were claiming Pacquiao is set to get KILLED in the ring and even went as far as calling him a coward who sold out his career for money because he took on a fighter two weight divisions above. If Oscar's disadvantage is he's shot, then his advatages were experience, power, reach, height, chin and size. That's ONE against SIX, yet Pacquiao proved everyone wrong and did do DLH, being the smaller man, what no one has ever done to him before and not even CLOSE. :deal

Dela Hoya picked Pacquiao believing that he could easily beat him.
Pac did not pick dela Hoya. He did not have yet the status to do so.:nono

    Typical dumbass fanboy post. :patsch

EVERYONE criticizes De La Hoya for taking the Pacquiao fight because it is a mismatch, he is just picking on smaller fighters and he'd be way too big and strong, etc.

And then when Pac beats him against all odds, "Pac is picking on old and shot fighters". :patsch Please go follow another sport. Please.

past his prime but not shot. dlh was probably weight-drained at 147. he will perform much better when he goes back to his current natural weight which is 154.

well Manny didnt sit in front of a crystal ball and look into it and decide to fight a shot oldman DLH, his promoters and team made the fight, and i doubt even they though DLH was going to box like he did.

he might not be shot but the question is do you want to see DLH in a ring like that again? it was not nice to watch at all.

Note the date this was posted by the 'thread starter', wow what a good call ?
He points out which i recently mentioned on another thread not having seen this post till now, that Manny has been fighting a lot of old boxers recently ?
Joe Calzaghe has had terrible stick for fighting oldies Hopkins and Jones {although Joe himself is old} yet with the exception of this thread and one or two other threads Manny gets nothing but praise for beating/fighting oldies, lets hope he picks on somebody prime next time ?

Exactly. He was shot against Hopkins. This is something far, far worse.

    IMO,

Pac is not fighting old guys, they want to fight him, to prove their metal, I guess Pac is faster in real life over NTSC video because nobody can handle his speed or pace.

All the positive energy and good will he gets from his fans would allow him to beat anybody, he is the most deeply lover fighter from the Philippines ever!
