Rubbish!!! Was Willie Pep passive when he won a round without throwing a punch? Was the great Ali passive when he rope-a-doped the huge puncher Foreman. It's called tactics and imposing your will on your opponent.
like i've said before boxing is self-discovery and, even though its you against someone who wants to knock your head off as bad as you do to him, its really about how well you can 'synch in' to the fight, react to your opponent and balance that with your offence. if you've been weened on boxing you don't really see your opponent, you just know what you have to do to react, you know what you do to get out of trouble, and you know when you have to lift. for those who haven't fought this might not hit home. but for those who have i think this will hit a chord. in layman's terms - boxing is like when people play chess if it's inbred in you. but some people will go straight for the king and dare you do to deny them, while some will change their hand and dare you to adapt and conquer. thats the best way i can think of saying it.
