I'm not sure man, if it was a muscle strain or something i would of said yes.

But nerves/muscle seem abit more complex.

You should go to a sports doctor..!!!!!

I damaged my disks 8 years ago and had all sorts of problems leg would go numb, spasms from no were . I couldn't even get in and out of a car. I had MRI scans and saw a specialist a couple of times who told me my training days were over . I had a few months off and thought **** it and started training again, flexibility is the key make sure you stretch every day and spend plenty of time warming up. I find even now if my ham strings get tight it sets my back off.

There are so many ways to injure your back it's hard to make a blanket statement like "yes you can fully recover" or "no you'll never box again."

I've got a disk problem and it's actually the main thing that got me seriously training. I used to run, but too much at a time would set it off and eventually I hurt myself so badly I could barely move. Last year my orthopedist said the only way I could possibly avoid reinjuring myself would be to develop core and lower body strength. So I found a trainer to supervise, and long story short, many months later I'm training to fight. As I started getting really relaxed and comfortable in the ring I found that the tension and pain in my back was much better overall. I still have the occasional bad day like when the weather changes or I sleep on the wrong side, but nothing I can't handle and nothing that keeps me from doing what I want. (I was running 15 miles a week when I hurt myself and now I do about that much roadwork on top of my training.)

The main things: make sure you have a good doctor and a good trainer, warm up and stretch a lot, stay loose, don't overdo it.

My mate broke his back or something very near to it playing rugby, he made a full recovery and is playing again.
