Can you give examples of a real life "fantasy match up"?

I understand why some people might think it's so ridiculous for some "boxing noob" to pick against the great _________, and all that.

But thing is, a high powered computer generated fight prediction sometimes doesnt follow what happens in real life, when the fight actually happens.

The other fighter may have slipped a bit already, or the other guy has personal problems that bother them, or a lot of other stuff.

The fantasy match up is pure fantasy, using pure parameters, that will probably only happen in 1 out of 1000 real life fights.

So why the violent reactions and the name calling?

Because Asero has absolutely no idea what he's talking about? :yep

In all seriousness, everyone realizes fantasy match-ups are just that - Fantasy, but at least back up the reasoning with logic. That's when the arguments occur, when Asero comes in like a **** and goes, "Pacquiao too fast. He dominates". It's frustrating.

I think it would have been closer to an absolute prime Tyson if the fight happened at the time before Tyson was jailed, at least.

Pre-Douglas would have been perfect, but I don't think it would have been an absolute prime HW Holyfield.

I wouldn't consider 147 Hearns's peak weight. I think he was best at 154. But it's a good and worthy mention none the less.

    Everything you say is true.

The violent reaction is just strongly held belief + internet anonymity.

And one more thing. People tend to pick their favourites. If it is entirely apparant to me that Duran would beat Pac, rightly or wrongly, and some huge Pac fan is picking Pacquiao because he loves him,not because he's broken him down properly, that irritates. Now, let's say that the same thing happens day in, day out, day in, day out turning an otherwise excellent message-board community into an infuriating mess...you can kind of see where the strong reactions (including mine) are coming from.

Pacquiao vs Marquez II was pretty god damn close to that IMO. My favorite fight ever.

Trinidad and El Feroz were both undefeated, at comfortable weights, and produced a fantasy-fight-worthy show.

The absolute particulars I'm not so sure...

now give me an ATG fighter that has faster handspeed than pac? Is is the main reason he keeps on winning and that is the simple reason why he would win on fantasy match-ups.

How can duran deal with pacquiao's speed at 147? He would be one step slow at that weight

Can you just imagine what a prime Pacquiao would have done to MAB?

The fight one was still a raw pac. It amazes me how can barrera ever boxed again had pac been at his prime in 2003
