If you're good enough to get work as a sparring partner why wouldn't you try your luck at competition and the chance to both prove your mettle and earn prize money?

The other edge of that blade is, who's going to hire a sparring partner that hasn't proven their self at some level of competition at least?

Maybe if you are so incredibly good that your sparring sessions are on PPV.

Francisco Santana is on a roll lately. He hasn't done too well in his pro career but has got to spar the likes of Canelo, Pacman, Khan, Ortiz etc.

Yeah but I think the TS is asking about giving pros rounds without ever debuting yourself, not even having a record. 0-0.

"Good sparmates with shitty records" are pretty common.

Plenty of guys have done the part time pro, full time sparring partner gig. I don't think anyone has ever been a full time, nothing but, sparring partner.

I was thinking the amount of time spend training for a fight and the traveling might not be worth the money than being a regular sparring partner with minimal preparation and disruption.

Do they have enough work to spar every 2 weeks 26 times a year to make a living?

They may end up being like a 3 round fighter, but that's all they need to focus their efforts on.

If you are a great sparringpartner that can bang as well as couterpunch very good, its a chance that u will get paid. but sparringpartners are a little like fighters, u gotta prove that ure wroth the money and give them the work they want
