I really don't know much about the International Boxing Club of New York, except Cus D'amato kept his fighters away from them while he could. Any breakdown of their legacy would be much appreciated, thanks.
IBC(international boxing club) pretty well control boxing after passing of Mike jacobs. James D. Norris of Chicago was head of organaztion. Truman Gibson was another higher up. They fixed some fights they pretty well RAN boxing They determined who fought for titles ,and sometimes who won. Although they were pretty darn good match makers. Damato who mgted Floyd Patterson would not allow any of their fighters, Folley, Machen, Valdes to fight Floyd for title, instead we got cowboy Harris,Amuetuer Olympic champ Rademacher, Hurricane to fight fer title!!!Frankie Carbo(Mr. Gray)had ties as did other hoodlums to IBC!! I always won dered who offered Ray Robinson bribe he refused. Its been asserted but never prove d they FIXED Robinson-Maxim go.U.S. Supreme court ruled in 1959 they had to dissolve their organazation.Although Corruption of course went on. Norris at one time owned Chicago Blackhawks.
