Can you see Oleksandr Usyk going 30-0 before retiring?

Usyk is currently 24-0 and still showed that he's a dominant force to be reckoned with. Just based on how he looked in his last performance can you envision him going another 6 more fights and potentially retiring with a 30-0 record? And who are the last opponents that you would want to see him face next?

If Usyk actually decides to continue on with a few more fights I personally would like to see him face Parker, Kabayel, Itauma, Wardley. And then finish off his career with an easy yet named opponent, preferably Deontay Wilder just so everything comes full circle. :sisi1

I hope he retires after this next fight, I don't want to see his legacy "tarnished" (it wouldn't be, but you'll hear every casual downplay him for a loss, "only 24 wins" type ****.) because he'd be pushing 39 by then and not many HW champs have even had a win past age 38.

At most I think maybe 26-0 or 27-0 and I'm not sure I feel 100% confident in saying that. He still looks great, but he's 38 and slowing down is inevitable.

Personally I'd like to see him beat Parker and maybe Kabayel then ride off into the sunset undefeated. Would suck to see him get beat by opponents who wouldn't have stood a chance against him when he was younger.

edit: I only suggest Parker/Kabayel because they're kind of being touted as the dark horses that could be the ones to finally hand Usyk his 1st defeat, I still think Usyk would decisively beat them even at this stage. But he doesn't have anything more to prove.

Keeping a schedule of around two fights per year would take him up to 42, at which point you'd expect a big dip in performance. Adding Parker and Kabayal is probably the most we can hope for. Then bow out at 40.

I think he only needs one fight -- Parker. If he beats Parker decisively, it's really hard to say anything negative about him if he retires then. If you want to nitpick, then Kabayel after Parker.

Beyond that, zero point. Unless he wants to go out in a clownshow on a discretionary against Jake Paul where he comes out of the gate like a bat out of hell, humiliates and stops Paul quickly, then says something like "Can we stop with non-boxer trying to box?", drops the mic, and rides off into the sunset.

Because you Paul never steps foot in a ring with AJ. At least with Usyk, Paul could figure he'd survive the fight. AJ? There's actually a legit concern there.

30-0 is a tall order especially only fighting once a year. would need to have 2 fights a year for that i think, and I can't see it.

I think we get 2 more and he retires just this side of 40

    No way

Post of mine from the other day

'Usyk said yesterday that he is near the end and that he only has 2 more fights left at most

He said he really misses his family and needs to be there for his sons and his daughter, especially the age his sons are now

Said he's away from them for six months of the year.

Excerpts from an couple of older interviews

'Usyk, 37, on the other hand, says he speaks to his own wife and children every day, but has not seen them for five months'

"I don’t think about boxing now, please. My camp started in September 2023, I worked for nine months. I missed Happy New Year, I missed my son’s birthday, I missed my other son’s birthday, I missed my daughter’s birthday, and then the birth of my daughter. I also missed family holidays. I was only focused on this fight, now I’m happy and I want to go back home. This was a big opportunity for me, for my family, for my country, for my people. It’s a big victory—not just for me, but for Ukraine. I want to say thank you to everybody who supports me, my team, my family, my kids. I love you all. I’m very tired now, I want to rest, I want to go home, I want to see my children. I haven’t seen them for nine months. I want to say to my daughter, ‘Hey, baby, I’m coming home.’

He also said boxing is a drug and he needs it

"Boxing if you do this for a long time: 10, 15, 20, 25 years then boxing is like a drug.

"If you don't go to training one day then you feel dead. For me, at least.

"I train every day. I don't do boxing every day. Sometimes I do crossfit, and running training.

"I only do boxing when I am in my camp."

In many ways boxing is like a drug'

Well in theory he could take the wilder route and knock over a part time boxer every other month and get to 40-0 but he won't, so no :)

He doesn't need to go 30-0, hes proven enough.

Usyk could retire now as he really doesn't have anything to prove.

It's probably more possible than many here believe.

Based on Saturday's performance, where he dominated a top 5 heavyweight, and the fact that he is already going well beyond what a fighter of his style should be able to do at his age, maybe he really can go on mixing it a bit longer.

He's been the wrong side of 30 for 8 years already, I'm already amazed frankly, it makes me wonder why he can't continue to defy traditional wisdom a bit longer.

The other thing that makes me think he can do it is that I think he is obsessed with boxing and I suspect already finds the idea of giving it up difficult to contemplate. There is a good chance that if he is boxing a top 10 heavy aged 41 he is taking a big gamble but maybe he wants to find out how far he can really take himself.

Its not impossible but very unlikely. By his next fight Usyk will be a 39 year old champ and he would need to double his title reign. Its taken Usyk 4 years to get his first 6 title wins and he lost on average 3.5 rounds a contest. And he was in his 30s. Assuming he maintains the same pace as he ages he'd be 42 going on 43 when he hit 30-0.

It mainly depends on who the 6 opponents are. Chisoras a gift so now hes got 5. After that he can get fight Wardley because some geniuses decided Wardley v Huni should be for a world title. That gets him to 4 fairly easily. Usyks got 2 other interim champions so after Chisora and Wardley he'd either have to fight either Kabayel/Parker or fighters that beat Kabayel/Parker. If he got through those 2 them he's 28-0. I don't think he does I think Kabayel beats him and while Usyks better than Parker Parkers 5 years younger. Parker is also likely to have lost his belt to someone more dangerous by the time Usyk faces him as Parker will have to fight once or twice before the Usyk fight if it were to occur.

Whether Usyk is capable of beating a given 6 HWs in a row or another I am deeply skeptical he'll ever fight a new opponent after the prophecy of rematches is complete. Hes expressed no interest in fighting any of his 3 interim champions and I see an AJ or Fury trilogy as more likely than even fighting Wardley. I see 25-0 or 26-0(9-0 or 10-0 at HW) then retirement.

Ideally, he beats Kabayel and Parker, then he has nothing to prove and should retire. Wardley was being completely outboxed by Huni so Usyk would be another level completely. If he hangs around for another 3/4 years, he will inevitably lose to an up-and-comer. It's too early to tell yet. HW prospects are thin at the moment, and we don't really know how good many of them actually are.

Oh yeah, absolutely. The two big "threats" (and I'm using that term VERY loosely) that he hasn't already beaten are Parker and Kabayel, and I personally don't believe either trouble him much. There's a pretty steep drop off after them.

I don't believe he will though. I believe him when he says he wants to do one more fight and then ride off into the sunset. Could maybe see one or two more past that depending on a few factors, but I don't see him going all the way up to 30. 27 at most, I think.
