It read " With a broken heart in a million pieces, i announce to you my friends , that my David Whittom joined the angels and my mother this afternoon. I miss the words , i miss the breath. I am down to see that i lost , in so short a time my guardian angel. The two people who believed in me more than anyone. I loved you , i never loved anyone, thanks for everything mum and David. RIP my champion . You fought too long. Now ( no ) more pain. "
Agreed he fought too long. Impressive record he would fight anyone. He got stopped 12 times in the pros, he took a massive amount of punishment through his career. Respect rip

He fought a who's-who...including Hughie Fury in his debut...and went the distance with young unbeaten versions of Adrian Diaconu, Adonis Stevenson, Oscar Rivas. Damn.
Years ago I saw a fighter get killed in the ring and I was right on the ring, outside, but as close as you can get................that is something that I will never forget.....................it sticks with you for your entire life...........
