Devignaud is the southpaw, btw.

 

Girardin with his posture, mannerisms, and haircut looks as though he were plucked from a b+w 1950's movie about boxers.

 

Deux love to Devignaud. He isn't half as cute or slick as he thinks he is, though. Against better fighters he won't be getting away with this counter-baiting, dangling-arms, chin-stuck-out, shooting-from-the-ankles swaggering nonsense.

 

That he is, although he's showboating a bit more than befits the situation IMO.

Girardin is reinforcing my early impression of him being a time-traveler from Golden Age central-casting at every turn - even his reactions to Devignaud's flush left hand leads beaning him in the face (jerking his neck straight back and then settling into place again with a reverberating wobble) resemble those you'd see from a "palooka" in old-timey films.

 

Yeah, noticed that one, Putkonen looks to be among the livest of the underdogs on the card. His opponent Yazid Amghar has only stepped up in class twice before: struggling with Garrido (taking a split decision) but later taking a UD over Daouda Sow. Hard to peg.

 

I can't get over the coif.

Almost like he told his barber "so at work tomorrow I'm going to be getting pounded on the bouche in front of a bunch of people, so could you leave a little sprig of curly-Q in the front so that it bounces to create a striking aesthetic every time I get clobbered? Merci."

Should be a pretty straightforward 60-53 (six zip plus a KD) x3 for Devignaud. Can't imagine a judge would have it any other way.
