That, or Brazilian glass just can't stand up to a sustained attack from even a cream-puff. :D

That was a nice barrage of hooks from Lofidi, though.

Canal+ is showing a (full?) replay of Garrido vs. Tachour as time-filler.

If they aren't just showing it piecemeal, I'll pick up my RBR posts from where they left off at the start of the 4th round.

    Recap:

    Round 1

Garrido is roaring out the gate, left hook leads, soaring rights! Tachour seems a bit unnerved by the early onslaught, but is settling into a rhythm, showing poise, screwing together a tight guard over his face and sprinkling in some counters between Garrido's punches at mid-range. Nice little battle in the center of the ring here. WHOO! Garrido went body to head and was force-fed a HARD right hand counter from Tachour. Garrido edging him in volume but Tachour getting in some tasty blows, showing excellent timing & ring vision. Busy jab from Garrido, pelting Tachour's gloves into his brow, then whipping the body with underhanded rights. Tachour now turns the tables and drives Garrido into the ropes.

    10-9 Garrido, airtight.

    Round 2

Garrido is slamming big right hands over the top, backing Tachour up. Nice jabs and roundhouse combos from Tachour on the backfoot. Garrido pushes him into a corner, overhand after overhand. Body shots from Garrido. Tachour is fending him off with hooking combos but only momentarily, forced to ultimately yield his position after each fiery exchange. Garrido applying HEAVY pressure. Tachour put in one corner after the other. Body shots & overhands all day.

10-9 Garrido, clearer than R1 but still highly competitive.

    20-18 Garrido

If a swarm comes in on I-496 westbound, we'll block off the exits so they miss the city.

    Round 3

Garrido is letting his left arm rest at his side while he's marching Tachour down, then drawing the pail up the well as he gets close and rowing out a range-finder jab. Tachour is moving well, luring Garrido into ambushes by the ropes, pivoting and scoring jabs & 1-2s. HUGE OVERHAND RIGHT BY TACHOUR. Damn, Garrido took it like a champ, that was a KO shot if delivered by anybody with real power (or landed on anybody with a glass jaw). Tachour is looking very comfortable and relaxed now, starting to seriously outbox Garrido. Tachour is forcing a slowdown of the fight's pace. Another big right hand up top by Tachour, although he lands on the side of Garrido's head more cleanly with his inner elbow than his knuckle pads. Garrido finding it hard to adjust now that it has become a pure boxing match.

    10-9 Tachour

    29-28 Garrido

    Round 4

Garrido is slinging overhands, trudging forward, head down, grinding into Tachour's chest. Tachour is locking horns with him, pushing forward, butting heads in the center of the ring, each attempting to shove the other back with their fists & skulls. Tachour steps back and throws a couple of jabs into the face. Garrido is casting a fishing-rod right hand high in the air, crashing down on Tachour's jaw repeatedly. Garrido is nailing Tachour nonstop walking forward, and then gets rocked by a counter but keeps throwing and stomping in on him.

    10-9 Garrido

    39-37 Garrido

    Round 5

Garrido is walking into jabs up top and right hand leads plugging him in the stomach as Tachour fires on the backfoot, tireless, going high and low, using both hands. HUGE counter shot by Tachour pitching himself forward after leaning back to load up like a slingshot, perfect short right hand on the chin of Garrido. High volume from Garrido but very little getting through. Nice boxing from Tachour. Garrido is looking more and more ragged, missing jabs and windmilling rights from outside. Tachour keeps him in laser-sights with the jab and works the body when Garrido manages to grind his way in close missing overhands. Tachour drills a couple of rights into Garrido's temple.

    10-9 Tachour

    48-47 Garrido

    Round 6

Garrido is still looking for his second wind, mouth-breathing and pushing jabs into the æther. Tachour is riding an invisible conveyor belt around the ring, away from Garrido, lining him up for counter jabs on the nose and combos on the body. Garrido is lunging with jabs and rights on the way in, stumbling a bit now, footwork coming more unglued with each passing minute. Tachour is keeping up a high guard in case Garrido wanders in close, wisely, as Garrido is loading up on some BOMB overhand rights, but they're routinely blocked. Tachour very comfortably able to catch & shoot with counters for the moment.

    10-9 Tachour

    57-57

Looking grim for Lion's Heart...unless we see a huge turnaround down the stretch here it appears we aren't going to be able to call this one a robbery...

    Round 7

Garrido is jabbing his way in, persistently shoehorning the left glove into the face of Tachour, getting a bead on his location, and then SLAMMING DOWN with the right hand. Tachour backed up into the ropes, maybe hurt a little. Even the blocked shots from Garrido having an effect. There is that second wind he spent the 5th & 6th waiting on... Tachour gets CLOCKED with a right hand while attempting to lean to one side and flurry up at Garrido from a weird angle. Tachour now looks tired. Garrido pressuring. 1-2 blocked. Right hand lead gets in there. Tachour lobs a counter flurry at the belt line.

    10-9 Garrido

    67-66 Garrido
