Canelo is Young, getting close to his prime years. GGG is in his mid 30 s. They are really just waiting for him to get old. Nothing more nothing less...

 

We’ll never really know. It’s quite possible that Canelo was (and still is) ready to step up to the plate and fight GGG at 160, but was just insulted by the WBC telling him that he has to make the fight by May 24th. Canelo hasn’t even had 2 weeks to recover from fight Khan and he’s told he has less than a week to make the fight with GGG? That's highly insulting and disrespectful is it not?

I'm being hard pressed to find anyone who's supporting him besides the few trolls on here. He's being crucified by fans - and boxers - on all platforms of social media. Genuinely surprised at the magnitude of the backlash.

 

Exactly and the WBC wants the fight forced into a purse bid and Canelo said nah. He still has to fight GG because GG is the mandatory. Canelo is the A side and GG will either ignore Canelo or take the fight and take the lesser purse because he won't get 55-45.

 

Can't argue with this. Hagler had to deal with this type of **** coming up. The difference is at least he was able to call the shots when he finally got his hands on the title.
