Do you really hate Canelo so much you want to see him hospitalized? lol He said himself he would never go up to cruiserweight, absolutely no chance this ever happens
Yeah I've been doubting the whole 6'9" claim after seeing him talking to Lennox. He looked barely taller.
Canelo Avarez probably entered the ring last night at 175 pounds, so, yeah, I think we might see him at Heavyweight some day. He probably walks around between camps in the 180's. He'd need to put on 30 pounds to compete at Heavyweight. If he wants to do that, I suppose he could.
There's a difference between him and usyks ideal weight: Canelo is approximately 160 usyk is approximately 190. That's a thirty pounds difference. Is the fight doable? Yes, this should be Canelos highest ever Weight to hope to compete at. Usyk fights guys too approximately 30 pounds more than himself, but he has bulked up phenomenally. There is no way Canelo can give away 40 to 60 pounds on an opponent. That is just asking for trouble and heavy work. Believe me, at his weight that functional weight may be a heavyweight, but a light one albeit. Someone once called him a tweener, between super middleweight and lhw, but I know he spars with Frankie Gomez, but the Cuban flash is probably not going all out. Essentially there were 2 middleweights who captured titles at hw. But lemme tell you this. They handpicked an opponent who a) in Jones fight was clearly distracted by the ref Jay Nady and the marital problems/ divorce. Plus Roy is simply superb. And b) toney caught Ruiz no doubt the same hw , while he was switching "in between styles" with no standard clinching. Also both were not midgets and both were HEAVILY muscled. Can Canelo put on that much weight on his 57;58!frame? Plus it would have to be a cherry pick like maybe right now fight Joshua as he has wholes in his defence and is suffering from low confidence? Just maybe he'll fight "small" against Canelo like when he comes in light for usyk and Ruiz rematch. Perhaps wilder. ??? This would be for all the glory. First deontay must pick up a belt. Deontay we know can't box, can only implement a few things per fight being kind saying that cause it's true (the jab to the body and what else??? Against fury 2. ) I see deontay being non threatened because he has that great eraser. But fury proved that when you take him into deeper rounds he hits more like a light heavyweight, he runs out of steam from windmilling those bombs. Or would we be seeing Canelo get starched? The later the rounds the better for cinnamon, advantage in the earlier rounds, goes to a fresh wilder. Again it has to be a cherry pick and no way he beats usyk, usyk is too special, fights at the same talent level of his opponents no matter how good or big. There is even a concensus that usyk is p3p number 1. Canelo can think about it, but wiser heads prevailed: we never saw Hopkins or Warde move up to heavy? Hopkins was a smart man with a twinge of paranoia, couldn't even deal with the power from Joe Smith. Warde? Knows how to conduct himself: the best weapon Caleb plant has is keeping his feet always moving. That is something Warde taught him and himself was talking about how he too would need to keep that up for twelve rounds. He preaches what he practices, did not move to heavy, gave cp the best advice for Canelo for him and for a while Caleb using his feet at all times being a mover, was working to a certain degree. Guys who start off at light heavyweight have a better chance than a junior middleweight. Albeit a great one no matter how bulked up! On a side note I think Canelo carries his punch to hw. Look at the videos with Reynoso, Cinnamon has more explosiveness than anyone in his camp, perhaps even more so than Ruiz. But then again that discussion gets into the conversation of mass= size= power, nuff said. Or maybe he can figure Sanchez out and box him after creating some bad blood! Lol
he's no doubt enjoying his 4 smw belts and won't want to give them up, but one off fights at catchweights vs heavier opponents I expect just not hw.
