The ever so dangerous IBF 168 "champion" Willam Scull so they can have an "undisputed" fight against Crawford of course.

Barring the help of "unnatural assistance", no already fit boxer gains almost 10% or 14 lbs of pure muscle in 8 month and moves with the same efficiency, especially at age 37 going to 38.

Who said that Crawford has to put on 14lbs of lean muscle? If anything, thats the opposite of what he should do.
Against Madrimov he was reportedly 169lbs on fight night, which is plenty enough for him to compete against Canelo. All he has to do is put on a little more weight, maybe 8lbs at most, and work on a solid gameplan.

Crawford needs to get used to fighting heavier opponents in the ring. But given his wrestling background, it´s not going to be a new problem for him.

We know Crawford won’t get a KO, seeing how no one else at higher weights has been able to do it (GGGX3, Bivol, etc.). So Crawford’s only chance is go the distance and win on points. At his natural weight, he could definitely do it, but at 168+ on the night? Not so sure. Will he get his ass beat pillar to post as some are saying? I don’t think so, but he will definitely be on his bike and trying to pot shot all night. But here and there Canelo will catch the judges’ eyes with some combos while controlling the ring.

I give Crawford some early rounds when he’s still fresh, but his extra weight will slow him down mid-way through the fight, allowing Canelo to catch up to him more. 8-4 Canelo.

So Canelo is fighting a 40 year old, inactive, welterweight lol.

I think Bud might upset the odds here, but I can't stress enough how miniscule the level of credit should be for Canelo in this fight.

Terence seems pretty confident of his chances, but can he really do it?

Crawford can definitely win. Canelo's best days are behind him, Crawford is fresh for being 37.

    Yes Bud might well win.

But ultimately Canelo is dragging up a 40 year old inactive welterweight.

I don't see Canelo wrecking him. I can see Crawford pulling a Charlo and use movement and not engaging. I think TC is good enough not to get knocked out by Canelo. As you mentioned, he just doesn't have the pop to bother CA.

Madrimov fought to survive and barely threw any punches, I don't think Crawford even hit him clean with anything big. Canelo will fight far more aggressively meaning he will create more openings for Bud to counter him with sharp sniper shots which will keep Canelo honest imo.

You don't need to hurt a fighter to get their respect. Floyd never hurt Canelo but Canelo did not just walk him down, because he was getting lit up with sharp shots. I don't think he will just walk through Buds power shots like they are nothing.

It's not a great fight - but Crawford CAN win; Canelo has been on the decline, and most importantly his confidence took a big shellacking in the defeat to Bivol. Whilst Bud is smaller than Bivol, he's in reality not THAt much smaller with a decent reach, and he can potentially keep flat-footed Canelo hitting air and sucking oxygen all night.

The concern for Crawford is Canelo walking through him to pulverise the body and that's something he will have to work on in a gameplan.

But in the end Canelo should be fighting Benavidez and Crawford vs Ortiz Jr or Bohachuk, or even Ennis

Crawford should be fighting Murtazaliev or the winner of Spence Fundora

So what you're saying is that it's ultimately a dangerous fight for Canelo, is that right? lol

Just another freak show fight to generate numbers, but not anything competitive. Canelo maybe as old as De La Hoya was when he fought Pacquiao, but Crawford doesn't have the youth or speed like Pacquiao to compete. It'll be a technical fight, Crawford will try to stand his ground unlike Charlo...but the result will be inevitable. By round 6 the mismatch will be apparent
