I get that but the same applied to Floyd and Khan and the size disparity between Clenelo and them was far greater than it is between Clenelo and Crawford. And the threat Crawford poses is to outbox Clenelo like Floyd and Khan did or Khan did until he got clipped by a way heavier Clenelo. We already know the blueprint and that Clenelo cannot deal with that style.

Also, Clenelo hasn't been stopping anyone for years. Sure the SMWs he fought are bigger than Crawford but he couldn't even stop a very inactive 154 pounder Jermello who was jumping up 2 weight classes.

its Crawford’s cash out fight, imo. He’s getting older, he’s not very active, he honestly didn’t look that good in his last outing, and other than fighting for undisputed at HW, nothing pays as much as fighting Canelo — Crawford knows all this, and there’s Turki sitting there who will pay Crawford enough to never have to think about money for the rest of his life. Perfect storm for Crawford to say **** it, let me go out trying to dethrone this guy.

he could just not dehydrate. He’s probably around 168 when he steps foot in the ring anyway.

putting on weight he’s not used to doesn’t seem a good idea anyway. Better to just make weight naturally, focus his training on getting used to fighting heavier dudes.

Personal note, ugh, last damn thing I need in terms of sports viewing is a Canelo fight where I have to root against him. My wife is Mexican. She has a big family. It’s a Canelo fight. Do I even need to explain more?

I’ll just quietly watch so I don’t have to endure my father in law calling me el pinche gringo for months.

I hope Crawford can pull it off but i doubt it. Canelo's left hook + right hand will make life very hard if Crawford fights southpaw. Madrimov was landed right hands like he couldn't miss and Canelo hits a hell of a lot harder.

I expect Crawford to be up on the cards like Khan was but get stopped late. If Crawford had SRL or Hearns type of power, i could see him maybe winning. But its hard to keep Canelo off you.

Without proper weight acclimation, Crawford risks going into the fight looking much smaller with some flab around the gut. Think Oscar vs Sturm

I don't like this fight at all. Crawford is just cashing out, willing to sacrifice his perfect record for a huge payday. I don't blame him, but the past few years he has seemed basically finished as a regular fighter. And for a guy moving up so much in weight, that's probably not going to go well.

Think back to how Bernard Hopkins worked himself up from 160 to 175. I am skeptical Crawford will put in that same work, plus unlike Hopkins he hasn't been stuffing himself into one weight class for 15 years.

I rather see Crawford fight Ortiz, Boots, or Murtazaliev myself and think this could possibly not end well for him. Saying that though from the tweets I've seen from Crawford he seems to really believe his chances against Canelo. He isn't the kind of guy to just cash out and slack off on a fight knowing he has no shot. Perhaps he knows that he's in for a tough fight but still thinks that he has the skills to beat Canelo which is why he wants to take the opportunity to not just cash out but to prove everyone wrong.

Risky and bold move on his part but we'll see how it plays out for him. Canelo has more to lose in this fight, that's for sure.

This is just as bad a look as when Big Red killed Khan.
Will he KILL Bud? I doubt it will look as bad as the Khan fight but this is a horrible matchup and only getting done for MONEY.

This type of Szhit is killing the sport. You have the “I refuse to fight a Mexican” side stepping David B time and time again for no reason other than MONEY

That's not how it works. If he does that, he comes in to the ring out of shape, and not lean like he normally does with a ful camp making his comfortable weight. He'll have noticable flab around the waist.

People do realize that this super lean version of Crawford for his 154 debut not only weighed more than his opponent Madrimov but weighed 0.2lbs less than GGG usually did and highly likely would've weighed against Clenelo, right?

Crawford weighed almost 2lbs more there than career 160 GGG did here

    Clenelo comes in about 178-180

If Crawford comes in just 2lbs heavier than he did against Madrimov the weight difference between them will be between 6-8lbs

He doesn't have an ounce of fat on him

He could easily add another 5lbs on that frame and come in at 175 and only be giving away 3-5lbs whilst still being very lean

We already know how great his IQ is. Canelo is yet another flat foot opponent for Crawford.

This will tell us if he can take a punch from someone as strong as Canelo. And if he is able to be effective vs an opponent that he doesn't hurt and/or has in danger of being stopped. Every opponent Crawford has face has either been stopped, dropped, and/or been hurt a couple of times in which we thought "it could be over"......

Craword will not be lean at 175. Even 3G didn't look as lean at 168 as he normally did at 160. Even the jump fom 154 to 168 is huge.

He looked super lean here 5 years ago weighing in the ''60s-70s''

He looked super lean vs Madrimov weighing 169.8lbs

He doesn't have an ounce of fat on him at 170 and he walks around at 180

Here he is 7 years ago weighing 177

Canelo will enter the ring at over 180. If TC does the same, it'll have meant his camp wasn't 100%. And he'll look flabby.

Same reason oscar looked flabby weighing 160 while cut and ripped at 154. And that was only 6 pounds.
