Kind of low to come out with statements like that after getting gifts in a draw and W, given that Golovkin was past his prime in both fights and has been on a slide down for a while now. Then he goes on an seals the deal by saying he’d beat Floyd too. What a ****.

Neither fight was really all that clear. Canelo and GGG are very evenly matched. But you're right, fighting Vanes made zero sense and it directly resulted in GGG losing the IBF.

While there certainly is some truth to GGG getting older and being less likely to beat Canelo as time goes on, I still think you and many GGG fans have used age as too much of an excuse, and in doing so have not given enough credit to Canelo. While it is very possible for a fighter in his mid-30s to get old overnight, at the same time it is also very possible for a fighter in his mid-30s to maintain his health over a period of two years and not deteriorate rapidly or even noticeably over the course of two years.

Just looking at GGG"s performance over the two Canelo fights, frankly I thought he looked in much better condition for the 2nd fight than he was for the first, as I predicted before the rematch. He looked healthier vs Vanes and going into the rematch than he looked vs Brook and for the first Canelo fight. (remember everyone was commenting on how poor he looked at the weigh-in vs Brook, that was two years ago)

Now for GGG to look better in the rematch than he did in the first fight, that goes against the theory that he's aging rapidly which solely explains his losing to Canelo. If he was aging so rapidly he would have looked worse in the rematch than he did in the first fight which didn't happen.

Just because you say it doesn't make it true.. You are entitled to your opinion but so is everyone else. It's not clear cut, so no, they are not both LEGIT, that's not what i would label those fights outcomes as anyway. They are quite evenly matched individuals. Though i think GGG is edging ahead..

I have GGG up 14-10 thus far.. I don't rely on Boxrec, many don't.. I had Canelo losing both. See Pac v JMM.. Many think JMM should be have been officially awarded that rivalry..

I agree with pretty much everything your saying except that either fight was a clear victory. I had Canelo winning both fights but I wouldn't say it was all that clear. Both fights were extremely close I thought and could be argued either way as is the case with many decisions in boxing.

About the first fight, you said Canelo made it close in the last 3 rounds, and I get the argument that he didn't throw enough in some of those middle rounds. But then you still had the first 3 rounds which most had Canelo winning. Round 5 Canelo outlanded GGG according to the HBO live punch stats. Round 4 Canelo was plenty active. It was really just in rounds 7, 8 and 9 that his activity really dropped.

I'm not using GGs age in the context of an excuse.
GGG is physically just as talented as Bhop was(Bhop may have been a bit faster, GGG a better puncher) and has a better amateur background and longer arms(Bhop had Trex arms despite his height) so he should be able to extend his time at the top.

But I just don't see the fire with GGG or his team anymore. I don't think he's gonna show up any better in a 3rd fight and I think Canelo still has 1-3 years before the wear and tear starts showing.

GGG may have had a better looking body in the rematch and is physically fit for sure but I thought he looked thoroughly discouraged until Abel told him that he's losing, then he fought the last 4 rounds hard.

I really really didn't like how he gave up the middle of the ring and started moving when Canelo stood his ground, we are talking about a guy who was an agressive boxer puncher his whole career.

Watch round 1 closely, GG comes out like he always does but then decides he doesn't want to mix it up with Canelo up close after he took that lead hook.

He didn't care when Kell Brook was quicker than him and he didn't care against Jacobs or in the first Canelo fight either. Something changed and I think it's his drive, his fire. It's diminished

I thought he said the same going in to the second fight, didn't he predict a KO? Anyway, onwards we go.

What he said is probably true, Golovkin can't fight age.

For me, it is dissappointing that the results of both fights against Canelo, especially the first one, did not give him a fair shake of how has he performed in the biggest fight(s) of his career.

Unless he found way to become faster and as strong as his former self, it is rather pointless for Golovkin to go for the third match now since he slowly passing his prime while Canelo just enters his.

Just my view but GGG won the first and Canelo won the second fight. Both were competitive but Canelo is a new beast at 160. Third fight he gets a wide UD on GGG.
Floyd is busy making cash off non pro boxers at this point.

I guess the 3rd fight is mooted for Guadalajara where GGG literally has no chance
    on the cards. Lol
GGG needs to understand the mob controlled business that boxing is. The boxing
fans know he beat ginger bread twice, and he needs to move on because the Oligarchs
will NEVER allow GGG to beat Alvarez officially.

As a fan of both guys who had GGG winning both fights comfortably, I agree that if they was to fight next may Canelo would have to be the favourite.

New beast in 160? He lost both of his fights at 160 and got caught with P.E.D half year ago.

Why did he went up to 168? If he is a beast why is he not fighting with Jacobs, Saunders or Andrade?

It's conventional wisdom for a reason.
