The problem GGG has there isn't really any metric he can use to show he deserves more. Canelo is such the bigger draw that it's difficult to argue against him taking such a large share. Gate receipts and ppv numbers mean Canelo calls the shots.

If it comes down to a "Take it or leave it" offer from Goldenboy then Golovkins team will definitely take it. There's a lot of time between now and the fight though, so it would be silly to sign any contract now

That's a damn great offer! Canelo does all the heavy lifting and K2 reaps the benefits.

The offer was made months ago. The ball is in K2/Canelo's court, if they can get pass Jacobs.

    100% truth!
Some might spend $5000 on a used Taurus, but not the experienced.

The majority will always flock to the quality product. If your cash is short, the B product is more appealing.

No one in their right mind buys Russian Vodka at Remy prices. No matter how much money they possess.

GGG has to keep pushing to see what he can get away with but if that is the limit, then $15m is brilliant and ultimately beggars cant be choosers.

I love how everyone only challenges Golovkin when they and he both have fights scheduled with other people. If fatboy Chavez Jr knocks out Canelo and ruins his long delayed superfight I will laugh.

Plus, Golovkin's been one hell of a negotiator so far. First they offered him nothing then 10 million, now 15. When he beats Jacobs they'll probably offer him 20. Canelo started negotiations offering Golovkin his belt. If he's not careful, Golovkin's going to wind up owning his house and car by the time they sign the contract.

It's more probable that Golovkin has the greater risk in his fight with Jacob than Canelo's fight with Chavez.
This is the best opponent Golovkin has faced in his career, where Chavez is not the best for Canelo.

That being said, I can see if Golovkin defeate Jacob that GBP may sweeten the deal with another $5M, talking Golovkin's purse to $20M.

Yeah, Golovkin's share just keeps going up. They keep adding 5 million dollars to it. Golovkin is a great businessman. His share keeps growing and Canelo's keeps shrinking.

Sure Golovkin is facing a riskier opponent, but Canelo isn't exactly used to facing guys his own size. The best guy he ever fought was Mayweather who beat him. Besides that, he's basically made a career of fighting junior welterweights at junior middleweight. Chavez is a lazy, no talent slob, but at least he's big and can punch, something Canelo really isn't used to.

Personally, I think it would be a good thing for Canelo to lose to Chavez Jr and for this fight to get buried. It would teach fighters to stop ducking, cherry picking, and milking fights. That would put an end to a lot of this nonsense Mayweather started a decade ago. Or maybe some fighter retires, or gets a career ending injury, which causes a huge superfight to go down the tubes, and people wake up and realize that nothing is guaranteed and you have to make hay while the sun shines.

Going to be hilarious when Chavez Jr re-hydrates to damn near 195 and walks the midget Canelo down and KO's him. The excuses are going to be a real treat to read from the Canelo fanboys.
