Canelo 163.8lbs at the 30 day weigh-in

I think it's you who needs to rethink their logic if you are happy with a guy who has a title at 160 yet is to chicken **** to defend it against actual 160 fighters.

 

You need to face reality though. This catchweight is definitely controversial, and Canelo shouldn't hold it hostage, but on the same token GGG shouldn't be a diva and complain no one wants to fight him. Canelo will fight him at 155, Lara at 160, Ward at 168. Is he going to depend on others to make the moves to define his legacy or will GGG define his own Legacy and seek greatness by fighting the best no excuses. Hopkins who is a huge MW dropped down to fight ODLH.

I hope some of you guy are joking around with your comments. In no way should anyone think that Golovkin needs to agree to weigh-in at 155 or below when/if he fights Alvarez.

Golovkin is the mandatory. That means if Alvarez doesn't fight him (with the 160 Lb. limit in place) he will be stripped. If you have leverage you use it.

 

Hit the nail right on the head. It's hilarious seeing all these idiots saying that GGG needs Canelo and should fight at 155. So Canelo as never fought at 160 and therefore has the right to demand a fighter to fight at his weight? I call BS. 160 belt is a 160 belt irregardless of Canelo has fought at that weight or not.

 

I don't see how team Canelo think they are going to make this work. I mean even if they manage to avoid Golovkin who are they expecting to defend the title against?

It's obvious he wants nothing to do with actual men his own size so are expected to see him defend against 147 and 154 fighters made to come up from now on?

Golovkin is the mandatory challenger. Yes, Golovkin holds multiple world titles at MW/160 but Alvarez is the Lineal MW/160 Lb. World Champ. As the mandatory challenger Golovkin may weigh-in for the fight up to but not over 160 Lbs.

Sure, they can agree to fight at 155 if they want to, but in no way can Golovkin be forced to weigh-in at or under 155 Lbs. when the MW limit is 160. If Alvarez refuses to allow the 160 limit... he will be stripped, bottom line.

As for Golovkin vs. Ward? Golovkin is a 160 Lb. Champ and Ward 168 Lbs. Golovkin wanted to meet in the middle at 164 Lbs... seems fair enough.

Also,any people have said they'd meet Mayweather at 147, 150, 152, 154, whatever... that's irrelevant. Fighting Mayweather is like winning the lottery and Mayweather can't hurt these guys who are willing to cut weight to fight him. Every fight has it's own unique situations involved with it. None of that shlt matters in this fight. They are both MWs and the MW limit is 160 pounds!

 

So Golovkin shouldn't complain and move down to 155 lbs. to fight Canelo, move back up to 160 lbs. to fight Lara, and then move all the way up to 175 lbs. to fight Andre Ward.

Canelo is being managed by a dam fool and that fool is Oscar. Oscar has weakened the man because of his hatred and jealousy of Mayweather. If he just lets Canelo fight (win or lose) Canelo will be better for it and his stock will rise considerably. He will never eclipse Mayweather and Oscar needs to understand that and keep it moving. The same for GGG and his manager. Mayweather money is not in their future. Kovalev is gonna outshine both their asses.

 

Golovkin and his fans need to STFU and accept that he needs to grow a pair and move up or down for a real challenge, he is doing WORSE than what RJJ did when he stood at 168 avoiding all the threats at 160 or 175 in his prime. BUT AT LEAST RJJ had some notable wins unlike GGG.

the fact is...he wont fight canelo at 155...in the meantime, while hes waiting, he could fight lara...who would be the best fighter hes ever fought....lara is the top guy just one class south....its not unrealistic to take that fight...but of course lara isn't easily hit or easy to look great against...and that's what k2 prefers

he ducked ward at 168 last year when ward tried to contact them.....

no one is saying fight canelo, then lara, then ward.,....but he hasn't even fought one of them...

lara has expressed interest but its up to gggs team to make an offer.......since hes the headliner there.....
