It's funny how quickly people 'forgot' that Canelo choose to drag up Khan for the MW title instead of fighting Golovkin. His fans are a lot more confident of him beating prime Golovkin than he was, and that wasn't even prime Golovkin, he was already getting on.
Not much considering some of your outrageous takes in previous threads we take that with a grain of salt. As for this thread Canelo at his peak fought two very close fights vs Golovkin, so a Canelo who was pre prime before bulking up with PEDs loses a convicning decision.
Golovkin at that time would have put a hole right through Canelo and I don't think its even a debate. IIRC they sparred at Big Bear at around that time and Golovkin set Canelo on fire. If we go a step further and take the dried out emaciated 152lb Canelo that Mayweather fought and pitch him against 160 Golovkin the organizer of that match ought to be arrested.
I don't get people saying it would be very competetive. GGG beat Canelo 8-4 both in 2017 and 2018, so a younger fresher GGG wouldn't absolutely destroy a green Canelo?
Prior to Canelo finally moving up, he was mostly fighting guys naturally smaller than himself, pretty good fighters, but naturally smaller. Canelo and Goldenboy did drag up Khan, who wasn't the best at 147lbs and was noted for having a weak chin. Golovkin was put in a jam vs Eubank jr, when Jr lost his pen. Then stepped in the undefeated Ring mag # 1 ranked welterweight Kell Brook, who was also hovering around the top 10 pfp at the time. Brook was also a very popular British fighter who could fill the stadium as much or more than Eubank jr. So in that particular case Brook was the answer to their problem. Of coarse the GGG haters spin the story as GGG drug up a welterweight and did it all the time. Kell Brook did dare to be great by moving up 2 divisions and truly fought the fight of his life and left the ring on his shield. What a great fight it was while it lasted.
