Canelo (2021) Vs Roy Jones Jr (2005) at super middleweight.

RJJ was reportedly weight drained in 2003 & 04 for his fights vs Tarver at LHW, having cut weight following his HW fight vs Ruiz. My guess is making SMW would have killed him in 2005. He'd have either lost on the scales or the excellent Canelo would have KO'd him.

Prime for prime at SMW, RJJ wins a lopsided decision without getting out of 2nd gear.

Jones wins a lopsided 10-2 type decision. There is absolutely nothing Canelo does at 168 that is better than Jones. Only Canelo's solid chin gives him a chance to see the finishing line.

 

Jones in 2005 gets sent into early retirement.

Roy was hanging around world level for some time, on paper, after Tarver rematch, meaning He was winning some fights against fringe contenders, veterans or journeymen to get himself another big fight - but He was never really competitive again on big stage after that.

Picking a considerably past his prime Jones fighting in a weight class he would really struggle to achieve makes this a very odd question. As great as Jones was, Canelo wins this matchup.

 

This match up makes no logical sense, Roy Jones hadn't fought at Super Middleweight since 1996 vs Bryant Brannon. How in the world would Roy Jones get back down to Super Middleweight, after not fighting there for almost a decade and fighting at Heavyweight ?

No offence but it's a silly match up that could not physically happen, and your just putting Roy Jones in the most no win situation imaginable. That isn't even physically possible, as Roy Jones could never make Super Middleweight in 2005.

I think ODLH would actually die if he tried to make 130 in 2008, considering ODLH looked like a walking zombie vs Pacquiao, when he hadn't fought at Welterweight in over a decade.

Lomachenko would clown a very ill stricken ODLH at 130 in 2008.

Prime for prime ODLH vs Lomachenko would of been interesting at 130, but I give the edge to ODLH for his size and jab.
