Yeah, but since neither fighter ACTIVELY CAMPAIGNS at 154 pounds, how can that not be considered a catch weight fight? Yes, Floyd is making the jump to fight Cotto at 154, but he's not actually going to stay there and make his living. And yes, Sergio used to fight at 154, but he's not in that division right now...so...you know...use some logic.

The precise term catch weight is used to describe a fight which is held at a weight between two official weight classes. English is not my first language but I understand as much as that.

No, one of them is simulating fellatio. The other dude is just pushing his head down. :bart

Maybe it will be at 154 if it happens, and maybe not. The fact remains that if it is at 154 then it isn't at a catchweight. :deal

Okay, but, the purpose of a catch weight is to find a compromise on weight between two fighters in different classes. So in this instance, while 154 is indeed a weight class, it also serves in actuality as a catch weight since it is a compromise between 147 for FMjr and 160 for SM.

If you take it 100% literal, then yeah, you might have a point. But, if you look at what a catch weight is actually about then I think you'll realize that in this particular case that term applies.

Look I got your point. Just when you say catch 99% will understand a fight between two official weight classes. At the end of the day it is not even that important. Thanks for making a civilized argument unlike some other people around here :)
