I don't see the comparison. Ok, one guy is Mexican and the other one has lots of consonants in his name.
Chavez was a shot fighter at the end of his career; Canelo is a young man with a long way to go.
Tszyu is a lot quicker with his hands and had great head movement; GGG actually likes to get hit and
doesn't try to avoid shots as much as Tszyu did.

    Not a good comparison, IMO.

I didn't say that Canelo was the same level as a shot Chavez did I? He's clearly better at this point in his career, but it doesn't matter.

I said I see GGG-Canelo playing out in a similar fashion, as in stylistically the two matches will look similar. Canelo will be being forced onto his backfoot far more than usual and be legitimately bullied around the ring for the first time in his career, getting jabbed in the face, afraid to let his hands go, as the bigger man breaks him down and eventually beats him into submission.

Give me a break with the he likes getting punched in the face BS, you're not very bright if you actually believe that, there's a reason why the guys who punch him in the face are featherfisted, and the guys that don't punch him in the face are KO artists. And its not because Daniel Geale and Martin Murray are far more skilled than Lemieux and Stevens either.

    This was a quality thread

Hopefully this year sees GGG taking the last trinket and battering the cowardly Canelo

He can hang em up after that and retire a rich man, with the respect of the entire ESB community

If he can beat Canelo Beouche I'd give him all the credit and admiration in the world.. BUT...... I highly, highly doubt GGG can beat him, but hopefully they can get it on this year so we can put this topic to bed.

IF GGG is deteriorating, and there's more noise out about that issue then ever before, the longer the fight takes the better it is for Canelo. If they fight in Sept 2018, its probably a lock for Canelo. For all we know he may lose to BJS? Not in Kazakhstan (perhaps this is like Sergio Martinez, how he obviously lost to Murray in Argentina, only to get smoked out by Cotto in a cash out fight).

Interesting theories...and I think you are selling Golovkins resume a bit short.....I have lemieux....Jacobs and even Monroe Junior giving Canelo heaps of Problems....Canelo can have plenty of good fights at 160 and that is without Golovkin in the equation....and He is no sure thing to win any of them.!!!!!

Exactly. If GGG can beat him then he gets mad respect for finally beating an elite fighter.

Lemuieux batters Canelo at 160 pounds , No one can realistically pick Canelo to defeat a MW when he has yet to fight a single MW.

We know what Lemuieux iz capable of against MWs
We have no idea what Canelo iz capable of against MWs

    There's the difference.

When you really get down to the nitty gritty about GGG-Canelo its pretty obvious that two important people do not really believe Canelo can LEGITIMATELY beat Golovkin. Who are they ???????
Oscar Fishnets & his little red headed chubby cherub El Pollo Canelo. IF & its a very big IF this fight ever comes off look for Mayweather type demands for EVERY advantage legal & illegal be afforded to Canelo
GGG will need to KO Canelo 3 times yo lose a split decision
