This. Golovkin would have pounded that version of Chavez to a pulp. No way the mummy version of Chavez goes 12 with GGG.

but for a couple of exceptions, there's been a steady upward trend in the quality of opponents GGG has faced over the last seven years (since he's been based in the US under Sanchez).

anyone who's been following GGG over that period, will recall that for each new fight scheduled, the line is always the same "once GGG is gets in the ring with [next opponent], we'll finally learn whether GGG is worth the hype"

Martin Murray: 31 fights never been knocked out or even knocked down when he fought GGG

David Lemieux: (from Bleacher Report) "Golovkin hasn’t had a chance to face a real top-tier middleweight to prove he’s what everybody seems to think he is: the best 160-pound fighter on the planet. whether anyone thinks GGG's resume is full of cans, the consensus is that the quality of his opponents have steadily increased over time
