I asked a simple question. I wanted to know what you ment by saying "All Ya'll"? If you look at my earlier posts you see that i said it's pathetic to see the racism on both sides. That's what i'm about! Instead of just blastin' Doc you say "All ya'll". I'm not the type to jump to conclusions, so that's why I asked my question. But I remember you are the one that never like answer questions and jump on the defensive. Yeah Doc is clearly in the wrong for using derogatory term. He's an Idiot, i'm thinking your on the same level as he is. Do you hate all Mexicans, because of what Doc said?
I doubt I'll ever get a straight honest answer? Any time you ask me something I give you an honsest answer, without insults. But I don't get the same respect.
Ali's legs were shot he had to lay on the ropes and take it. Like I said you cant find one example of Ali in his prime or otherwise willingly getting into a brawl for a crowds enjoyment. Sorry but no. Most posters around here could tell you about Mayweather vs Chavez, Mayweather vs Corley, Augustus, and Castillo. Most of the knowledgable posters are in awe of Floyds skill. Sorry but I'd rather watch an exhibition of the sweet science then Gatti vs Ward any day of the week. But thats because im a true fan of the sport. Brawling is good from time to time, but at the end of the day boxing is about smarts, skill and intelligence. 2005 - Diego Corrales vs Jose Luis Castillo 2001 - Mickey Ward vs Emmanuel Augustus 1998 - Ivan Robinson vs Arturo Gatti 1996 - Evander Holyfield vs Mike Tyson 1992 - Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield 1991 - Julio Cesar Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor Jones already beat Hopkins. Hopkins couldnt sell **** ever. So I fail to see how that fight would have sold anything. Roy Jones quite realistically asked for 60-40 since he already beat Hopkins. As for Michalczewski he wouldnt leave Poland. Jirov lol? I mean look at the guys you named, Hopkins, Michalczewski or Jirov. You really think the average American would be shelling out money to see these dudes on pay per view? Please. Next thing you'll name Steve Collins lol. Jones was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 1990s by the Boxing Writers Association of America." Fighter of the Decade. Yeah you have to fight alot of bums to get that award. Maybe he should have taken a page from Julio Cesar Chavez, because we all know all 100 of his victories were against prime competition. He had a concussion when he was sent to the hospital. Did he fake that aswell. Boy you are a clown. :rofl Muh huh. He was running so fast away from Froch he managed to rock him with a left against the ropes. I guess Froch was chasing him so fast he didnt see the punch. Yeah and a grazed punch that causes a concussion. You are a joke son. Without black Americans revolutionizing the sport at every turn, the sport would have died along time ago. Muhammad Ali said something similar. As exciting as Ward vs Gatti is for your average red neck, Gatti was never getting 1 million buys like Mayweather niether has any other nationality besides De La Hoya. He only became clown shoes after he fought Roy Jones the second time. A joke fight and he was silly in it. Before that he was lauded for dismantling a great white hope in Kelly Pavlik. And he's one of the most exciting fighters in the sport in the last 20 years. Proving your theory that brawlers earn the top bucks when they dont. The Oscar fight was good. The Vargas fights were good. The Cotto fight was great. The Margarito fight was a brilliant destruction of a Mexican hype job. Sorry you're losing. Please. Then explain Mayweather and Zab Judah's popularity if black people had jumped ship. Steve Cunningham fights at cruiserweight. Please jackass, name the last high selling cruiserweight fighter since hte 80's. Again you're a joke. At a peso a seat thats not bringing in any revenue. Please show where Marquez has done million dollar gate. His biggest pay per view was against Mayweahter. Before that against Pac his biggest was like 400,000. His last fight with Diaz did something like 120,000 lmao! You dont know ****. Wake me when he does over 500,000 buys on pay per view. And that means what? How many buys do you think a couple of featherweights are gonna get on American soil. If it is on pay per view lol. It might just be on HBO. His biggest numbers in NYC I believe were 600,000 against Margarito,. His fight with Clottey and Yuri were on HBO. If they were going to massive sellers they would have put in on PPV where it could have earned real money. But it wasnt and they didnt. Adamek does damn good in Jersey? You mean like fighting on Versus? You obviously dont know what real revenue is. YEah the klitsckos do bank in Germany, but HBO wont even put them on tv. Pavlik does **** numbers aswell and he actually has a fanbase in youngstown. Again debunking your theory that only black fighters do poorly in America. Sorry guy but you're obviously not very smart. :rofl Lets see you named Marquez. Not a draw in America. You named Cotto, a minimal draw, even in New York. You named Saul Alvarez and Morales, not draws in America. Morales when he fought Pac only did some 300,000 buys. Mayweather did better with Baldomir lol. Then you named Europeans who cant even get air time on American television. HBO wont even broadcast the Klitsckos they are so boring. Adamek is fighitng on vErsus in Jersey lol. Sorry, nobodies doing big numbers in America, except a black American, FLoyd MAyweahter and a filipino Manny PAcquiao.
Dempsey said "im glad I didnt have to fight him" And he didnt fight any black fighters of his era. Blatantly ducking Langford, Willis and McVey. Not only that prior to his heavyweight reign blatantly ducking even black heavyweight challengers. There is only one logical conclusion/ And that means what exactly to fighting them? They both used clinching as a way to control fighters. Its weird that you deny this when this is the exact strategy Tunney used to beat Dempsey in the first place. :nut So now it went from ELITE to just champions lol? Ok we can play that game. List all of the British champions over the last 20 years, and I'll list all of the American champions. Lets see who wins.
I didn't read most of your post, because you think Tyson was a face first brawler, but Ali/Jones was too. Ali was an entertaining fighter, pre and post-prime. There's no shortage of good fights throughout his career. The fighting desire of black Anericans has dropped tremendously in the past few decades, which is why there is no fighter outside of Mayweather who draws. Who is the second biggest black American draw? And at the end of your post, you were talking about draws. America is no linger the centre of the boxing universe. It's an international sport, so you can't ignore numbers from the Klitschko's, Kessler, Khan or whoever. They may money and our money is worth more than the dollar. The American market is an afterthought for many fighters around the world because they make more money in their own country.
I said he was a face first brawler with an underrated defense and a great jab. You act like im calling him Margarito. And its obvious he was. What do you call what he did to Larry Holmes? Boxing him? Not by his own desire. If he could have beaten everyone like he beat Archie Moore and Floyd Patterson he would have. there are no fighters besides Floyd and Pacquiao that draw in America period. The Klitsckos cant get on HBO. Pavliks numbers arent even good. I fail to see what your point here is? If thats true then why do all or most of European and latin fighters live and train here? Khan, Abraham, Froch, ect have all expressed their desire to fight in America. Martinez the middleweight champion lives and trains in America and has an American promoter. Gamboa, Caballero all live and train in America. Vitali Klitscko lives in America and is raising his kids as Americans. Sorry fail again. No where on the planet does anyone make what you make if you become big in America. Its the reason why Floyd is one of the highest paid athletes in the world. You can earn that bank anywhere else.
The conclusion is that years after his career ended, Dempsey complemented a former champion. That's it. Dempsey would have slaughtered the version of Johnson you think he avoided. Nothing. I'm not connected the two. Johnson's defence was to catch punches. Tunney used footwork. Please watch the fights before debating with me. I said "champions" because you'll be pedantic about who is elite. Knowing your bias, I'm sure you'd ignore Lewis but consider Shannon Briggs elite. And why 20 years? That's very random. How about we look at the present? In fact, find those statistics I posted which exposed your stupid argument.
I stopped reading at this point "Diego Corrales vs Castillo" and let me tell you, Corrales was Mexican and Colombain.
It is said that they fought an exhibition, one that Dempsey barely won. Who knows how would have ended in the ring. Slaughtered? Not likely. Johnson was a clincher. The same thing Tunney used to beat Dempsey. Again watch the fight. Nope. I named Lennox Lewis, Joe Calzaghe as elite fighters. I even gave you Been and Eubanks who wouldnt be great in any Americans eyes. I would only name true ATG's. Jones, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Hopkins, Whitaker, Holyfield, Tyson, Mosley, Wright level fighters. I'd leave the Junior Jones, Bowes, Vargas, even Forrest level fighters out if you wish. Well right now you have only 3 champions about the same as Puerto Rico. None of which are actual champions or hold anything other then a minor trinket. So again not fair and you lose.
