Well ***** logic is catch weights arent **** if you wanna come in over weight thats fine as long as you dont weigh in over the division limit.

The problem for Broner is that he failed to make weight in such a way that it was clear he didn't try that hard to make it, renegotiated the weight deal to no higher than 140 lbs the next day, then it was clear he didn't try to make that weight either. It's not just being unprofessional in his case, it was a blatant "I will weigh what I want to" move where the deal he signed earlier was meaningless. And all this for a large competitive advantage against a fighter he probably would have had no trouble with anyway. Escobedo was, to be fair, well paid to deal with this disadvantage, but it's not good for boxing to deal with this type of issue from one of it's rising stars with all the other problems it has.

I wasn't aware of this, no one deserves a pass for not making weight, It is bull**** fighting at a catchweights in my opinion, Hatton shouldn't have ever been given that title shot, it should have been a legit 154 fighter at the 154 limit.
