Canelo's never been much of a volume puncher, this would be uncharacteristic of him. The statement "Cotto at this point doesn't do so well when being pressured" couldnt be more wrong...He moves way better now. Anyway this would make for a great fight...Im already down for the Avy bet LMK.

No he hansn't but you don't need volume to be a great pressure fighter, canelo is about patience, power, smart counters and stalking his opponent with smart pressure.. he is not the pressure fighter like Juan Diaz, or Pwill, because of their small power they need more volume, canelo has big power so he makes everything count, and unleashes bombs, many are fearful of pressuring him or going after him because then canelo just counter with a big shot that makes them think twice, its a double edge sword the style they want to apply.. so canelo is more comfortale with slowly breaking his opponent down... Cotto would not want to pressure a big puncher, physically bigger canelo..

it wouldn't make sense his best shot would be to outbox Canelo on the outside, and never let him impose his size and will, once canelo hurts u he just starts getting closer and closer to your demise breaking u down with body shots and hard counter shots and combos to the dome and body.. cottos problems with stamina will play a big part, and going after the body to the body puncher in cotto would only make the stamina problems appear faster..

I'll take the avy bet whenever they fight takes place, and it will within a year, its such a big event... that GBP would be stupid to let cotto fall from the radar right now that after the may he was exposed to a great audience..

I honestly think Alvarado would beat Canelo. Quintana would be just as bad as the Mosley fight.

    Excellent question :good

Here's your answer. Because it is a ready made excuse. Lara is dangerous and Canelo and GBP know it. Plus there would be a very high probability Canelo would lose and they can't have that...Yet.

They could try..Oh I don't know...Promoting the fight. Hell they could promote Lara up he's a Golden Boy fighter. The only fight I can think of that would be more lucrative would be Cotto, and he's not interested. If they put the proper promotion behind the fight and Lara, the fight could be just as popular, and money making as any other available besides Cotto. But like he said he's not interested, at least right now.

    Find and link the source.

Cotto said that he was fighting at the end of the year. Cotto lays the rules, not Canelo.

Cotto fights the same way. Cotto has the power to put Canelo down as well and you are talking about going to the body? Hell, Cotto has been making boxers **** blood since 2001!

Did you even notice the combos that Cotto was hitting Margarito with? On the back foot? Canelo does NOT have Margarito's depleded uranium chin. He has been hurt on several of his fights and his chin is suspect. DId you notice Cotto on the back foot vs PBF? He landed some significant shots...to the #1 defensive fighter currently on boxing.

Cotto can out box him, his ring IQ is much more elevated, can bang and land some bombs, or fight on the back foot....and he can put some very, very smart presure and cut the ring like the best.

I would not be surprised if Cotto stops Canelo.

    Cotto wins.

It looks like Canelo just want a good pay day, no matter what.

The real fans know who Lara is and know that Lara is a very dangerous opponent. If Alvarez wants to make a name for his self, he needs to fight such opponents.

Sincerely think Cotto would knock Alvarez out.
