Alvarez is getting a lot of hype for the weak opponents he has faced. Saying he would destroy Lara is absurd with the resume he has. I know he is only 21, but as of now he shouldn't be the main event of a PPV. Alvarez v Ortiz would have been a terrible PPV and should be at best an undercard. And beating a 40-year-old Mosley should not catapult you into a PPV fight. Just my opinion...
Alvarez may not be as good as people say he is but he is incredibly popular and a fight with Ortiz would draw.
Otiz was a legitimate world champion , and has fought a lot of world class fighters ! Can - yellow won a paler title off of a welterweight and has fought smaller , older and washed up guys before the bogus title fro Don jose and has fought the same types since ! I would not pay to see him Fight until he beats at least one world class fighter in his prime ! Right now more hype than sunstance !!!
Canelo is very overrated! He hasn't proven anything to anyone, and the way he looked against anold aging veteran like Mosely that's never been a junior middleweight proves my point. Lara will destroy him, and Ortiz would have been a horrible fight. He's not a junior middleweight, he's a welterweight. They need to put Canelo in with a legit fighter like Lara, but they won't, instead they will feed him another one dimensional, very, very limited old fighter that is K9 Bundrage. Watch, you'll see, why not win another title against a very inept fighter like K9. He will look great to the many Mexican and latino fans that follow him, but to a knowledgeable boxing fan, it will be another win over a nobody.:----------(
Its probably not going to stop until he proves himself as a true champion and not a guy learning on the job. It's almost like your boss asking you how to do his job. You shouldn't have the position if you're not ready for it.
