    Not gonna happen.

Cotto is the same guy who fought trout. Hasn't beat anyone of note since then. Cotto has been ressurected for Canelo to gain prestige. That's all.

Sure, if you are the type of person that believes no practice is necessary, and training camps don't affect a fighter.

The Diaz trained Cotto is a fighter who was trying to change into a Cuban point fighter and not utilizing their strengths.

The Roach trained Cotto is a fighter that enhances his stylistic strengths and works on refining them.

Turning a blind eye to something like training and preparation is for casuals. Training and preparation is fundemental in not just combat sports, ALL sports. As the saying goes, fights are won in the gym. If you don't prepare, you're going to lose no matter who you are.

Being "green" is not the reason Alvarez is going to lose to Cotto. If he is still "green" at this point of his career, he never will be "seasoned".

Agreed, as a mexican my heart wants canelo to win, but my mind is telling me cotto will win. Canelo is too stiff for cotto. Cotto moves alot more fluid and is good on his feet. That, and he has decent power at 154.

    Cotto wins a ud.

No, Cotto is NOT as skilled as Floyd... but he has demonstrated heart and determination over his career. I also think he has improved at a late stage of the game by teaming up with Roach.

    Having said that...

I still believe my first and immediate impression that Canelo will win this fight.

  10. Miguel Cotto is a BEAST!!!!!
He is quiet and humble outside the ring but a deranged, unchained animal inside. Caneo will need a blood transfusion after the fight. He will need to be carried out on a stretcher like the stripper was.

It will be at 155, not 152, Canelo will be fine.

  12. 152 made no difference back when people said that Floyd was scared. That's why this ******* went and fought Mosley and struggled with him. Canelo wanted to lose the 2 pounds because he was arrogant and ****y but had no skills. Mayweather did'nt beat him down or some **** he just outclassed him.

Stop the dumb **** about the weight. Canelo was not knocked out.

Canelo was green for Floyd and a bit drained for Cotto Canelo is in His total prime in experience and age, so this Canelo is way better than the one that under perform against floyd.

Canelo is one of the smartest guys in boxing now. He will stop cotto.

You are talking like if cotto's footwork is something next to lara's or floyd's. And that's not the case. Cotto will trade, and at the very moment he trades, he loses the fight. And he will trade, oooh yes he will.

I don't think Cotto needs to imply footwork that mirrors Lara and/or Floyd however he will make subtle movements and pivots to neutralize Canelo's aggression and feed off any mistakes/openings Canelo will surely provide. Cotto is also extremely smart and in all likely hood much more versatile when compared to Canelo. Alvarez needs to push the fight for every round 3 minutes of the round that is the best strategy for him. The exchanges will also provide plenty of opportunity for the young lion. In my mind this is a classic old wiley vet vs a young potentially great superstar (if he's not already) both can hurt each other and both have the will and heart to dish it out. If canelo can eat those left hooks he will most likely win if he shows any respect he will be outboxed and/or possibly stopped.
