Canelo Alvarez is too green to fight Miguel Cotto.

I wouldn't describe Canelo as green, he's had several world title fights. A green fighter is a fighter who's not had much experience at world level.

I'm a Canelo fan but I'm worried by this fight. Canelo doesn't deal with movement well and while Cotto isn't the greatest mover he can box off the back foot effectively if he wants to and he has more recently fought in a style that is more likely to trouble Canelo. I think Cotto will surprise people and win a decision, Canelo will be competitive and may even take Cotto to the brink but I see Cotto getting the nod after 12 rounds.

 

if roach is some genius coach how come all of his other fighters suck? how come he didn't "revitalize" pac? cottos last 3 fights were against handicapped, weight drained, or just plain average fighters, all meant to fool the general public into believing cotto is some kind of reinvigorated beast. they fooled the public into believing this to be a super fight when it could possibly be just more smoke and mirrors to make people believe canelo is the golden child, when in reality this is just cottos cash out fight, kill 2 birds w 1 stone, you see how tboxingptb works?

 

The question is not if canelo can take the hook from cotto. The question is if cotto will be throwing that left hook after eating canelo's right counter to his left hook.

Canelo's favourite hit is to counter his oponent's left punches. The very moment he feels his oponent left hand on his guard, he automatically counters with an all-in right hand. Not a lot of people can afford those counters. Floyd was able to set up canelo and counter the counter, cotto is not that skilled nor that smart.

It will be a wonderful fight anyway. Though, my v-money will be on canelo for sure.

Canelo is not too green for Cotto.

Cotto is too pink for Canelo.

People been sleeping on and doubting Canelo for too long now. His resume has become underrated by fans/critics.

 

Mexican people usually support a lot their fighters. I never undestood why they didnt want to support canelo. He has soooo much talent, and everybody was denying it. Now more and more people give him the respect that he deserves, but I dont understand why people didnt want to give him that respect. Specially mexican people, as I said.:huh

 

I compare Canelo to JMM a bit as far as style, the more experience he gets the higher his iq will grow.

Cotto is a HOF fighter and would be a tough out for anybody, but Alvarez has skills and speed on his side and should take a competitive decision or late stoppage.
