    Also, interesting choice. :think Forbes is in good shape despite a layoff approaching a year, having been in camp for a scheduled date with Emanuel Augustus last week (that got scrapped). He's more of a poor man's Mayweather than a poor man's Mosley, though.

    Sparring a small welterweight, with no power and likes to play defense, hope this isn't cinnamons main spar mate...
    Not that he needs to spar for Shane, Mosley's still my boy and all but I think once cinnamon lands a big punch or Shane even senses his power, Mosley will be content to survive, collect his check and retire...

    right place, right time.

    any other era this 5'8" jr middleweight with suspect power, limited defense and bad footwork would have been a contender and nothing more.

    canelo and martinez are lottery winners.

    what the heck is canelo doing with forbes as a sparring partner?? first off, forbes doesnt have even have half the punching power of mosley. to add to this, forbes is a pure boxer while mosley is a boxer puncher??? maybe canelo thinks all black fighters fight the same way????:huh

    Mosley is a bigger underdog than Cotto :think. I think Canelo will win, but IMO he shouldn't be 1/9.

    They are pretty good at picking Sparring Partners, they got Golvkin for Rhodes one of Canelo's best performances... I'm sure they are working on a defensive minded mosely who will try and survive after feeling the power and catch canelo off guard with a counter or something. They probably practicing cutting off the ring, smart pressure, and good D. Even though size doesn't really matter in sparring cause its about working not KO'ing.. Golovkin is a big 160 pounder, forbed a WW not bad at all..

    they used golvkin for size, so I'm sure they using Forbes for a defensive minded runner or something lol

    Maybe it's for hand speed purposes? :think

    Remember, Stevie was throwing punch for punch with Berto and matching his quickness to the surprise of some (including Andre).

    Of course Mosley in his prime - and even five years ago - was light years ahead of Stevie in hand speed.

    Now, though? :think The Mosley from Mayweather/Mora/Pacquiao?

    I'd say it's dropped off enough that a quick guy like Forbes (aging himself, but younger than Shane and with less wear having been hit a lot less over the years...) makes for a reasonable enough facsimile...
