That ref was definitely on his side on the gomez fight he was still standing and ready to fight after the ref stopped it. bad stoppage should of gave him more time..

and with rhodes why did they stop it. only good one was cintron.

the gomez one is the only BS one. If you notice Rhodes corner threw in the towel. Rhodes was taking a brutal beating the entire fight.

The Gomez stoppage was bad because besides being really quick in general, Gomez had been holding his own against Alvarez up to that point, hadn't taken much punishment, and as the Cotto fight showed Gomez is pretty resilient. That stoppage screamed, "our cash cow is looking questionable tonight, gotta stop this at the first chance." Jose Cotto's stoppage was somewhat weak, though at least Jose had been taking a lot of punishment up to that point and his punches had no juice anymore. The Rhodes stoppage was fine, Rhodes fought Alvarez in survival mode and had done absolutely nothing but be a punching bag in a terrible effort to that point, no reason for him to take more punishment when he wasn't even fighting to win.

And this against C level fighters he ain't never going to learn, once he step in with a real A or elite fighter he is going to get smashed ala Vargas, Lacy, Reid, and those had better skills that Mr. Red

Gomez was outboxing him for decent stretches. They weren't going to let him lose in a showcase on a major PPV.
