Alvarez in his top light heavy form boxing at his amazing 100% vs Sharkey at his featherfisted top form drawing with Micky Walker.

    Who you got?

Do I hear a bid for Sharkey against Duran? Anyone? Duran? Duran? Dur-- We've got a bid for Duran. Do I hear Arguello? Ladies and gentlemen, we have a bid for Arguello against Sharkey. Arguello going once. Arguello going tw--

Harada! I hear Harada from the flag-waving promoter in the back. Harada going once...

Canelo has fought at the 175 limit and is weighing his options at the 200 limit. Any of those guys done similar in their prime?

No matter how bad you might think Sharkey is...how does Canelo beating approximately 1 light heavyweight (a shot, gunshy Kovalev who threw mostly jabs the whole night) mean that he could beat a heavyweight?

I just want to hear the case for Canelo, I'm not here to argue.

No doubt they could have if they'd faced the likes of Jack Sharkey.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest Canelo would beat an on form Sharkey.

I think your poll is committing the logical fallacy of poisoning the well.

I'm kind of with @Glass City Cobra on this.

If @Seamus wants to throw the gauntlet down to half the forum, it's fine if he has a good argument. So I'll wait for the argument.

Sharkey didn't look impressive against Walker, but even at this form I'd favor him over Canelo.

Sharkey at his best would dominate Canelo.

Remember that Sharkey, though he lost to Carnera famously in their rematch via that mysterious uppercut, did indeed resoundingly beat Primo (the ATG hero of this forum) and decked the giant along the way...I think Sharkey would dominate Clenelo and gain confidence greatly along the way "whilst" doing so.

Slow twitch, stiff Sharkey gets timed from the get and beaten pillar to post by the superior boxer, the superior athlete, the superior puncher until he succumbs to injury.

He picks up the baton Charlie Weinert carried in two defeats of Sharkey and sprints to the finish line.

    Worthless, disingenuous agenda thread.

I'm sure the guy the guy that went toe to toe with Dempsey, and battered Harry Wills would be terrified by Canelo.

How would the old timers react to seeing a boxer who comes forward while leaning back, and throws one punch at a time? I'm sure they'd be in awe of such technology.

The best Sharkey beats him easily ... mismatch ...you can take the best vs the worst and have a lot of possibilities
