Do you think that Kovalev took a dive last night?

The only thing I suspected is why didn't the ref. make a count? It was just the first K.D.

because kovalev was unconscious in the air, any competent ref would be able to see that. he should have been made to lie down till a doc took a good look at him. he was completely finished.

If it took place in Vegas I would say that the corpse of Canelo would be given a split decision win or maybe even a DQ win over Beterbiev. Literally any other place on the planet and Beterbiev knocks Canelo tf out.

Artur should call his manager and ask him to book him an appearance on a popular Mexican sports channel so he can call Clenelo out on prime time TV. Call him El Pollo live on air and look down the camera and tell him in no uncertain terms that he's going to beat his ass like a red-headed stepchild and retire him. Strap season, baby! They'll absolutely love Artur B and his ultra manly aggressive style over in Mexico.

Like I've been telling you all for years even the good people of Mexico can't stand the deck-stacking poster boy for corruption deceitful ginger toad. Only his doe-eyed DKSAB teenybopper boy band worshipping groupies over there like him.

JCC Sr aka El Gran Campeón Mexicano

'LAS VEGAS – Canelo Alvarez knows he has his critics. So, too, does Julio Cesar Chavez, the all-time Mexican champion who represents the historical standard that Alvarez hopes to one day equal or even surpass.

Chavez says he is an Alvarez fan. He argues that all Mexican fans should support him.

But, he says, he can’t tell fans what to think.

“People are divided in Mexico, all Hispanics,’’ Chavez said this week before Alvarez attempts to take down light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev Saturday at the MGM Grand in a DAZN-streamed bout. “Many people like Canelo, many don’t. I think it’s unfair. Canelo is Mexico. He’s the best champion we have. We have to support him.

“But people don’t like him. There’s something.’’

Although often diva-like late in his career, Chavez was considered a beloved figure among Mexican fans in his prime. Any advice on how to win over more Mexican fans?

“I’m no one to tell him what he has to do,’’ Chavez said during an impromptu interview at the MGM Grand’s media workroom. “The love they gave me … I don’t know. It’s something that I won, for being who I was, who I am.

“Or maybe it’s because I left everything I had in my fights. Maybe Canelo is missing a war where he wins dramatically.”

Joe Gallagher who travelled over to Mexico with some of his fighters recently said he couldn't believe how many people there are over there who just don't like Clenelo at all.

The bear would maul Canelo unless they tied his hands behind his back. Something Golden Boy/DAZN would probably put in the clause.

Beter would more than likely fight on the front foot and eat shots from Canelo to get in punches of his own. He has the power to end the fight in one shot, so I don't think Canelo would get away with the flat-footed high guard strategy he employed against Kovalev. He'll have more to deal with, than a soft jab. I don't see Canelo winning without a robbery, unless Beter ages overnight. The man is 34 after all.

Canelo kept a high guard because of the jab of Kovalev so he could counter it. Beterbiev is not a jabber, he is a stalker who gives you no room to breathe.
Betebiev's cuffing looping shots also come around the side and through the middle via uppercuts. He also pulls you around so you instinctively duck down and put yourself in a blind spot and when you come back up you don't know where he is going to nail you from.

For Canelo to beat Beterbiev he will have to be on edge throughout the room and somehow neutralise AB from coming forward as well as muscle up some core strength to avoid getting put into a clinch and tossed around.

It's too much for a natural counter puncher like Canelo to learn when his natural muscle memory and fighting instinct tell him to fight a certain way.

Beterbiev would be in his comfort zone as soon as Canelo starts backing up and feeling the power. Beterbiev can also knock you out going backwards as well as his having his back to the ropes......

Kovalev was a good win (if one with yet another asterisk mark) but let's not be silly.

    Beterbiev smokes him.

Why would Canelo fight Beterbiev? Hes not stupid. He has done enough to fight Kovalev, despite Kovalev being shot. People are expecting Canelo to do stupid ****. They said he would never fight GGG he did twice. Now he did crazy **** and fought Kovalev next they expect him to commit suicide and fight Beterbiev?? Why would he ? Hes miles above his weight division.
