Saunders will school him so bad he can't get robbed. Canelo is a midget, smaller then Pepe Lemew, he also has no foot speed and he will need it to land as he's a counter puncher and Saunders has electric feet.

Canelo is heavy handed at 154 but against bigger guys like Saunders his power will be ineffective, Saunders has a great chin and is a clever guy he knows how to stay calm under pressure.

Saunders will bleep the lil ginger nut

A lot of knowledgable folks pick Lemieux yesterday. I think similar with the above, canelo and Saunders is a fight that has to be seen to know how it's play out.
Saunders can certainly be fleet footed but I don't think he can do to canelo what he did to Lemieux. Canelo has deceptive handspeed and counter punching ability, something Lemieux can't do if his feet are not planted.

That's my initial thoughts as well.

Saunders' footwork alone would befuddled Alvarez and I think he would be more of a sitting duck than Lemieux was.

Saunders would be tagging him all night and at any point when Canelo would try to attack, Saunders would disappear/make him hit air.

Hmm, that would be an interesting one. But I'd say Alvarez.

BJS jab is way more educated than it was before. I know hes been with Ingle as his his new trainer, and it shows.
He used to just throw power jabs. But last night was a thing of beauty.
And we all know that Alvarez has serious issues with movement.

(BJS also didn't stay on the line at all. A big flaw that he used to do and because of which he got caught on the ropes often)

Saunders has massively improved over what he was.

Canelo has also massively improved over his previous versions.

I'd say the fight would be competitive and a chessmatch. What really lets Saunders down is his relative lack of power. He needs to make Canelo work 12/12 rounds and wear him out. Not so easy to do when the other guy can shrug off the incoming. On the other hand Saunders' gassing problem seems gone ... maybe he could pull it off. I don't think either can KO the other one.

At this point I'd favour Canelo on consistency and pedigree; he's a step above the guys Saunders has fought thus far. In a fair fight I think Canelo has the edge, albeit a much smaller one than I would have given him before the Lemieux fight.

If we factor in Oscar's "special" judges then Canelo's victory is almost assured.

Canelo just doesn't throw enough jabs to keep up with Saunders. He will constantly be throwing power punches, which presents the main question of the fight: can Canelo land what Lemiuex couldn't? If he doesn't then Billy Joe walks a UD again

I was very surprised by Saunders, never thought he could pull that off.
Haven't seen much of the fight because I litterally fell asleep around round 2 (very early in the morning and should have gotten some sleep first), but if the reactions were any indication it was how most of the rounds went anyway. The guys that said Lemieux was taylor made for Saunders seem to have been right all along.
Still, Alvarez is a different fight though. He won't chase Saunders, has a much better defence and can counter him. I expect a lot of razor close rounds in that fight, that of course most or all will go the way of Canelo.

    Alvarez by decision, maybe/probably controversial.

I don' want to vote ,I just hope they make the fight.
The old guard is retired, these new guys have to make their own era relevant to the world by fighting each other.
Just mix it up and forget about the "maximize money" schtick. That **** has affected or infected MMA now too since McGregor became the Irish Mayweather and **** it up over there.
BJS just needs to stay in shape and not become the middleweight Adrien Broner.

I said on here 3 years ago, 2 years ago, a year ago that Saunders beat Canelo.

And I still say Saunders beats Canelo, only by so wide a margin now, they can't rob him.

And Canelo fanboys, don't quote me and try to argue, because I don't give a ****.

I think Saunders comfortably outboxes GGG, but it's harder to envision how Saunders looks against Canelo. I think Canelo will box well with Saunders in the middle of the ring, he'll be working a good jab that Saunders will have to figure out, he'll be able to carefully time rights on him, he'll be looking to goad Saunders in, and he'll punch with variety and up and down, that Saunders can't easily get away from. Canelo's slick too, he'll be presenting a small target with his upper body. Especially as the fight goes rounds he should be able to counter Saunders. We might want to think Canelo will be on the front foot and looking to walk down the speedy mover, as against Khan or Lara, but we should accept that Canelo's evolved to a pure counter puncher/boxer. Canelo's no basic Golovkin, much less Lemieux. I see Canelo as the toughest guy stylistically for Saunders.

This would be one of the best pure boxing matches out there.

Dude Canelo has gone toe to toe and either won or drew dead even with better pure boxers /boxer-punchers than Saunders like Trout,Lara,Cotto,Khan, even GGG this year. Saunders may have moments early before ultimately getting worn down in a 8-4/9-3 type fight.

A question though with all the hype on Saunders now would beating GGG clearly in a rematch in May then beating Saunders in the fall in a unification match be enough to make Canelo P4P #1?

I pick Canelo but Saunders has a real shot at upsetting Alvarez. He's slick enough to make Alvarez miss all night like Lara did but will get shots off like Lara didn't. Cotto's footwork made that fight very close but Saunders doesn't have the work rate that Cotto has.

So you are comparing 160lbs fighter in BJS to 147 and 154 old, shot or never been any good gatekeepers ? Funny thing.Canelo needed a gift against Trout,Lara and was in pretty close fight vs old and small Cotto as well and got gift draw vs Golovkin and draw on 1 of the cards vs Mayweather.

Canelo cant cut off the ring , he has no stamina as well so he will never to be able to win 7 rounds and win without a gift vs Lara,BJS and so on slick kind of fighters , Canelo excels only against fighters that sit in front of him.Mexican fighters that block punches with their face like Angulo.

Anyway my prediction is that BJS beats Canelo easy 10 to 2 rounds and gets robbed as usual Giftnelo event.
