Canelo Alvarez vs Erislandy Lara? Who wins this and Why?

    I think this fight will be much closer than people may think.

    After Alvarez sees Mosley off, I think this will be a great fight for him.

    Lara deserves a shot and would be a huge test for Canelo.

    Who do you like in this fight?

    He will cause Canelo all sorts of problems and will be a hell of a fight. I don't really see a knockout, however both their chins will be tested.

    I doubt Goldenboy would put Canelo with Lara, but you never know.

    I'd say Lara to be honest. Probably by decision (which could, in fact, mean a Canelo 'robbery decision').

    Canleo has yet to "sell" me. A good fighter no doubt, but I want to see him in with more experienced, dangerous fighters.

    Once he overcomes that hurdle, he'll "sell" me a lot more than he currently has now.

    Not to say that I don't see a bright future for the kid.

    I'd say Lara, but I don't care who wins or loses, I think it be a very good fight for the sport and a step in bringing old time boxing back. Let the best fighters fight each other instead of focusing on building cashcows that only end up serving us dissapointemts and exagerated opinions on how good or how bad a fighter really is.

    Didnt expect this to be such a landslide.

    I'm sure after May 5th, the polls would have been a bit closer.

    Probably, if Canelo beats Mosley and looks good doing it. I don't have a problem with Canelo, I think he's really good, but Lara is really good too, but stylistically more complicated.

    Canelo won't convince me he beats Lara by beating a corpse that USED TO BE Shane Mosley.

    Lara would **** up the current Mosley badly.

    This is a MM though. GB will NEVER let Canelo fight Lara. Lara isn't a big name, and he's a highly dangerous fight for Canelo. That means no go.

    After he beats shot Shane, my guess is they match Canelo with the winner of Berto-Ortiz. Either of those guys are winnable fights for Canelo.

    Alvarez is a very promising young fighter, but he ain't yet ready to take on the likes of Lara yet...or Mayweather, Cotto, Martinez, etc..

    It will be embarrassing to keep Canelo fighting Welters while defending his MW belt.I say he fights JK if beats Mosley may 5.

    I think Cotto vs Lara would be a great match.

    Canelo by KO because hes mexican. Laras only good against black fighters. See Molina fight for details.
