I think this scenario could motivate proven fighters to operate as free agents. They wouldn't need to enter into exclusive agreements with the PBC, Golden Boy, and Top Rank banners, especially when the legacy-defining, star-making fights are happening with the deep-pocketed outfit I described.

I think it would also help to abide by a strict purse split. Both fighters evenly split 80% of the purse and the agreed-upon PPV/TV money. Fight results would determine payouts for the remaining 20%:

    - T/KO before round 4: 20% to the winning fighter, 0% to the loser.
    - T/KO between rounds 5-8: 18% to the winner, 2% to the loser.
    - T/KO between rounds 9-12: 16% to the winner, 4% to the loser.

    - UD: 15% to the winner, 5% to the loser.
    - MD: 13% to the winner, 7% to the loser.
    - SD: 11% to the winner, 9% to the loser.

    Draw: 10% to each fighter.

    This could work

It's a shame that networks don't actually listen to fans. They would probably make way more money rather than trying to rinse us at every opportunity.

You can scrape the Wilder and Ruiz fight. Unless they make it a non PPV event. The Mexican crowd will pick Canelo over Ruiz. To bad cause Ruiz and Wilder is far more intriguing.

I just realized that Canelo could be the first man to defend the unified championship 2 consecutive times.
This being the 4 belt era.
Hopkins did it once. Taylor never got to try. Crawford never tried.
Usyk defended vs Bellew. Inoue didn't try either. Haney is about to attempt his first. Which leaves us with Jermell, who currently has 1 defense under his belt.

Ryder is aggressive...should make for an action fight.
Can't see him freezing up like Callum "Bicep" Smith did.

Yeah if Ryder comes out throwing jabs and doesn't commit to power punches then we will know something stinks.

I think Ryder is a worthy challenger. He beat Callum Smith, Jacobs and Parker. He also has a history of coming on strong late in the fight, while Canelo tends to fade. Nothing wrong with this fight in my opinion.
