Nunn could pull a Kalambay on him only to be disqualified. Nunn's style is awful for Canelo, and he should beat Canelo with his length and hand-speed. I don't like the Toney comparison, as Canelo doesn't have as much power as James, and doesn't have the stamina to grind Nunn down like James did. Nunn should win a decision IMO.
There is not enough information here. Answers are needed to the following standard Questions prior to a Canelo fight: Is there a catchweight Are the rehydration clauses Does it take place in Vegas Will Nunn be given proper time to train Will CJ Ross and Adalaide Byrd be judging, or their modern day counterparts
Canelo has always struggled with guys that move. Nunn from the Tate or Kalambay fights was a taller, stronger and more agressive Lara.
Canelo has a tighter defense than any fighter Nunn fought and Nunn had a glass jaw, Canelo would counter him with ease, Nunn was completely overrated and looked awful v Starling, constantly countered with the straight right, Canelo by KO.
I think it would be very close. Nunn outboxes Canelo early, then Canelo rallies in the late rounds. A draw is not out of the question.
Toney could punch, not on the Jackson level but he could hurt people. Plus he wore Nunn down over the course of the fight. Nunn may or may not have had a glass jaw but the Toney fight wasn't an indicator
Funny I see it very similar, with the exception that I think Canelo would would do well early and fade down the stretch. I know it is fashionable to hate Canelo, and while I am not a fan I do appreciate his in ring work and skill. I would truly expect a SD either way or a draw as you suggest. I think these guys are both skilled operators and a blowout or stoppage are not likely outcomes in my mind.
