Canelo is going to go through heaven and hell to make 154lbs - the only reason he's doing it is to save face after dropping the MW belt rather than fight GGG. After that he'll get this fight at 157/158lbs vs Saunders in the rumored "free HBO fight"
Why is Canelo fighting more Euro bums? I thought Canelo only fights the best and at MW all you have are bums. Canelo should stay at 154lbs or drop to Welterweight or jump bumland and go straight for SMW where you have the high caliber fighters.
Canelo is gonna take play & $$$ out of poor Golovkin/K-2 negotiations come Sept. By beating BJS (Which he will) & taking that belt.... (Since THE belts is all pretty much GGG has... His resume is weak AZ fugg) Dude has like a bum walking in off the streets asking to run a corporation type of a resume. (Half/Truth slash/Half fuggin' with the GGG Demographic...)
Saw this a while ago on the scene, interesting if it comes off would favor Alvarez in this matchup Saunders is really a less skilled version of guys Canelo has already beat. I personally would be interested in a JMW unification bout before a permanent move up if Alvarez looks good vs Smith. Canelo-Charlo(either one) would be a great ending officially at JMW and are winnable fights based off their last showings.
Looks like this is the only Chance for Ducknelo to prevent a unified champ at 160 called GGG by holding the WBO belt hostage for some more years @155 until GGG agrees to 155 or moves up to 168... what a püssy :deal
It's hard to see Saunders getting the nod here. I could see a 7-5 for Canelo being the fair score with BJS having to put on a fairly one sided schooling to get a decision off the judges. While BJS is a good boxer and decently slick, so is Canelo. BJS also lacks the ability to press an advantage and get's lazy as soon as he's given the opportunity. While I like Lee and he's a good fighter, if Saunders didn't completely school him then I don't see how he's going to beat Canelo. Either way it won't be a very exciting match.
Canelo's word means nothing to a lot of fans right now, they should probably keep hush about his next move so in case he doesn't follow through he doesn't look like a jack ass.
If he wanted to do that he should fight a British fighter with a fan base, lian smith isn't well known at all as he only fights on box nation, same with bjs, also factor in bjs is a traveller and he has a very small fanbase
So IF this fight goes thru Vs. Saunders. (Not looking passed Smith but going with the plan) The only thing flawed about it is why go back to 154lbs one last time unless... it's the 3 British fighters in a row thing? Oh yeah & to block GGG'S coveted "unification" which ASSUMING Alvarez gets passed Saunders aswell will probably bring Golovkins asking price down a tad.
