    Stylistically, they’re completely different fights.

Also, wins over McCallum and Graham are better than wins over GG and Lara.

Many people think that Lara won.

I enjoy watching him from a technical and aesthetic viewpoint tbh mate, he's a very good fighter and much improved, which I like. He's incorporated new stuff into his arsenal as he's gotten on, honed his style and is pleasing to watch. I'd guess that the Mayweather result seemed to make him realise how he needed to improve to justify some of his own hype and cement an edge over other fighters, and he's done it. A few years back on here he was viewed even more derisively than he is now but has managed to sway opinion and force us to acknowledge that he's become a really good fighter, though only the Golovkin fights have really highlighted it in terms of holding his own against another very good/excellent fighter. His record is still littered with close, dubious fights and struggles on the way up against past-prime big names and assorted mediocrity. Lacking in depth other than Golovkin really despite multiple belts through more than one class and his p4p reputation.

But yeah, an overhyped, pampered and protected drug and weight-draining cheat, which spoils it and makes him impossible to root for. It's a shame really because I think he has enough ability to have been a notable fighter and contender in most if not all eras, especially if he had the backing he does today. Ironically, without that backing and maybe thrown in the deep end with a few losses mixed in with excellent wins, he'd probably have more respect amongst hard-core classic fans and historian types than he does. Which I'm sure he doesn't give a toss about considering how rich and famous he is and already considered great in some circles.

I always feel like a cheeky, self important knobhead saying how I think a top level professional boxer can improve when I work looking after a warehouse for a living, truth be told. Content to observe and pass comment rather than preach and pass myself off as Ray Arcel like some on here (though I've worked training young fighters in community projects here and there).

I agree with what you've said really, hard to argue.

The lengths that people have gone to lately on here to denigrate McCallum......some people need to give their heads a serious wobble saying that someone like Jacobs is on his level or better, it's downright lying to yourself.

    Another great post.

There’s nothing wrong in saying where a fighter can improve. And even if we don’t like fighters for certain reasons, we still all have huge respect for them for what they do.

Life is defined by circumstances and opportunity.

It doesn’t matter where you work.

    You work.

You should be immensely proud of training young fighters in community projects.

You’ve no doubt had a positive impact upon their lives, which can only be a great thing.

    It’s not that they’re lying.

It’s just a lack of knowledge.

They simply don’t possess any knowledge of Mike and the like, but will argue regardless.

    They’re just ignorant.

I won’t even comment on a fantasy fight thread if I don’t possess knowledge of both of the fighters in question.

To be honest, I sometimes reckon that fibbing and pillocking yourself into believing something dubious isn't as bad as just failing to see that Daniel Jacobs isn't as skilled, talented or proven as Mike McCallum. And I've given Mike his share of constructive slagging off in my time. In fact, I don't know which is worse and struggle to see which is taking place at a given time, so I just settle for rolling my eyes rather than spending hours and days arguing. Even if I wanted to, my little boy will randomly do something like put a bucket on his head and use the stairs as a slide. Bigger worries, you know?

Lara won alright, all Canelo landed all fight was about 10 proper bodyshots and one uppercut and he still got the decision lol!

We couldn't possibly factor in that Kalambay got smoked by Nunn and dropped decisions to Kalule and Duane Thomas. Wouldn't be fair.

Two robberies and a fluke? Sure, I wouldn't. Unless you think Canelo will accidentally KO him in one, or Rob him on the cards (one of which, I'd agree with you), then I don't see how these are relevant.

Look you can say 3-0 all you want. I'm a fan of neither GGG or Canelo and the first fight Canelo LOST.
And the Lara fight isn't anything to brag about.
Kalambay on the otherhand beat the heck out of an unbeaten Graham the first time.
    Totally outboxed an unbeaten MCCallum.
Beat Collins when he was well past it.
    I mean come on.
Canelo got slapped around by a smaller Mayweather.

They argue that Daniel Jacobs is better than Mc Callum, yawn. There is really no sense in arguing with such ignorant and biased posters. Quite frankly, it has been done in other threads and was a loss of time.
